  1. A question not on NPL but definitely about NPL club junior development structure. How is it possible that two of the Northern NPL clubs are not able to field U/18 teams this season? An excuse I have heard circulating of one of the clubs is that many have gone to Uni. Not sure how many 16/17 year olds are off to uni these days, but I doubt this is a genuine reason. What is happening at the grassroots level, SAP programs, junior age group squads at these big clubs to not be able to retain players for this age group? I have one possible reason - player registration costs. Maybe parents have had enough of paying out hundreds, if not thousands with multiple children, each season, merely to fund these big clubs’ senior playing budgets and not getting much back in return.

  3. Have Ulverstone been included in case the title race comes down to goal difference?

  4. How Glenorchy Knights managed to lose against Launceston City ? Woeful finishing and very poor defending when it mattered. Of course L.C. are a never say die team. Well done to them, but Sherman really needs to get some of his young players up to level and soon. Have to apply score board pressure, you can’t just create chance after chance and not score and be pleased with the “effort”.

    1. Interesting comment considering knights finished 5th last season Sherman has got a side who are a lot closer to top end this year, he’s a far better coach than the previous so loosing to a side who came second last season (away) is not the end of the world.

Unsure if you watched the game but very even contest could have gone either way,, so maybe you don’t like Sherman but comments seem very out of context …

  6. Watched the Kingborough game & felt it could have gone either way.
Riverside have improved & have a couple of very decent players that will need watching as the season progresses.
