  1. A real underdog story, with Boro only having a $100k wage bill this year! Talk about a fairytale!

    2. I hope that’s a massive exaggeration

    3. I’m sure they’re crying they’re way to the aus cup

    4. Do they? Can you please post all teams costings as you must have them in hand.

    5. Imagine your life being so sad that the first thing you feel the need to do, is jump online and let everyone know that Boro pay their players. Guess what champion - so do most other teams. If Boro lost, you probably would have been the first on here to laugh at them anyway, loser.

  2. Dev can have no complaints. Had a home game and soft draw every round to get to the final.
They were lucky to get to pens. Ref somehow missed a super obvious pen to kingborough in last minute of extra time. Best team won

  4. The senior men's final was a fantastic game.

Not high on quality but the tension was there. Great to see a big crowd too.

The Port looked weary at the end and I think the travel caught up with them. Tough ask to get off a bus after 5 hours and play on a plastic pitch.

The refereeing wasn't great either. The back pass to O'Connell was a tackle and there were many dubious calls. Glad it didn't alter the outcome.

Both teams took their pens well. The big fella stretching to the left made the difference however. Huge save as Denehey struck it ok

    1. I don’t think it was the travel that made port weary I think it was the 90 odd minute shift they put in…they worked really hard and applied good pressure.
Conceding with the last kick in regulation time would also have drained them. Credit to Bourgh they kept going right to the end. Good cup final!!!

    2. 5 hours to get from Devonport to Glenorchy don’t be ridiculous, even on a bus. Was a 90 year old
      Grandmother driving?

  5. The teams with biggest recruitment made the final it was a good final. Good on Boro for having their moment no one can say a thing now.

    1. This isn’t true! Ulverstone or Mainland FC would have had the biggest recruitment of any club in 1 year ever.

  6. Suck it up all you northerners - Had your chances and stuffed them up. Better luck ? next time - IF you make the final. Congratulations Boro.

  7. Thank god the referee making it all about himself with the back pass in the last few minutes didn’t affect the result and Boro went on to score equaliser and eventually win. One of the worst decisions I’ve seen in a long time.

  8. Congrats to the lions, fair result on the balance of the game.

Thought #8 for port was outstanding in a losing side.
Introduction of Downes in midfield changed the game in my opinion.

Been a while since Ive caught an npl level game and must say the quality and physicality has dropped off a fair bit, I guess the physicality side of the game can be attributed to the way the game is officiated these days, seemed to be a lot of soft fouls for body on body and no one really putting their self about.

Overall entertaining game just felt like we were watching a youths game not a senior mens cup final.

  9. Right wing for Port the only person who looked like he wanted to win on the entire pitch - big forward for ‘borough needs to ask himself why he is out there, have a go and don’t give away undisciplined free kicks because you fell over at the other end and wanted a free for it, stop crying and win it back - they scored from it and you almost cost your team a cup win - O’Connell clearly the best goal keeper in the State, not unlike Raya winning it for his team. Good to see State soccer teams back on the agenda - big Tony has earned himself a champagne for that.

  10. Poor substitutes late on in the game killed it for Port never looked like scoring after taking there main goal threats off, poor game overall in terms of quality, Fair play to Boro but unfortunately if they play like that in the Aus cup will get a touch up. The league could now be very interesting with Morton going, best player in the comp again this season only the fourth year running …

  11. Morton has seen the light. The NPL Tas is a joke of a league. The ball is super low this year.
