South Hobart opened up a 5-point lead at the top of the Men’s Southern Championship standings after beating third-placed Hobart United 3-1 at South Hobart Oval on Sunday.

Hobart United took the lead through an own goal after just 6 minutes, but Shin Kwanhoon equalised with a penalty in the 12th minute.

South Hobart had looked under pressure early on, but a goal after 27 minutes by their other Korean, Hyeonseo Oh, put their noses in front.

Liam Morton netted 13 minutes from the end to make the 3 points safe for the home side.

Second-placed Taroona slipped up when they were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-side Glenorchy Knights at KGV Park.

Here it is Wednesday, and Dribl still has no details about the scorers!

South East United travelled to Clare Street to take on New Town White Eagles in what was a familiar venue for some of their personnel.

South East United coach Adam Shackcloth coached Eagles to the title last season, while Luke Huigsloot was an important players for Eagles last year.

Keeper Mitch Stalker is also a former Eagles player.

The sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Jacob Sartori opened the scoring for the visitors after only 6 minute and it was not until almost an hour that Mark Page netted the equaliser with a long-range shot.

Olympia Warriors managed a second win of the league season by narrowly overcoming second-last Hobart City away at Sandown Park.

Lachlan Burt rocked the home side by putting Olympia in front in the opening minute, but Luka Johnston levelled in the 9th minute as City regained their composure.

Johnston put City ahead with his second goal of the game on the half-hour mark, only to see Charlie Roberts pull the visitors level 7 minutes later.

Ryan Amani hit what turned out to be the winner for the Warriors 4 minutes before the break, neither side being able to find the net ion the second half.

University’s two talisman, Ramiro Vilar and Daniel Goodluck, scored the goals as they overcame Clarence Zebras 2-1 at Olinda Grove.

The visitors had opened the scoring in the first half through Haidar Alnasser, but second=half strikes by Vilar and Goodluck snared the points for University.

  8. Going out on a limb here. But with the reference to poor photography and the use of the word nonce. I can't help but put 2 and 2 together an assume a certain young adult who throws that word around behind the goals at lightwood Park thinking it's funny and has beef with anyone taking photos other then their parent.

  9. Hahaha, someone needs to lay off the sherry and step away from the keyboard. First 5 comments are the funniest thing I have read in ages, better than the crap they used write for FT.

  11. Oh Walter. Well done on you being the bigger man ( that said, the pathetic posts were obviously from a child not an adult ) & sharing the messages sent to you. Obviously the young person who sent you the messages is a self entitled little brat & most likely praised by mummy & daddy who tells him/her they are a star football player. I’m sure you have taken it with a grain of salt & so you should as the football community of all ages is right behind you & appreciate your many years of dedication to the game.

  17. Ironic to talk about communication buddy, not a single properly punctuated sentence. How do you go from talking about sucking up to Walter to talking about wanting to be a CEO in a week?
