  1. Thoughts on the first goal? Appears to hit the crossbar. Linesman needs to be sure. Doubtful goal.

    1. Is there even a visible line in that mud

    2. Would say the linesman was sure hence why it was given a goal (where were you situated in a better position to the linesman?). Hit net behind crossbar. If it hit the back of the crossbar would have deflected into back of net. Look at a slow-mo.

    4. Wasn’t any protesting from knights players.

  2. Thoughts are Knights were very average and didn’t deserve a draw regardless…. Sherman did Sourh a huge favour leaving Naden on the bench for so long ….. junk goals against the bottom teams count for little if you you can’t score against the big boys…. Remember both Knights goals were penalties which tells you all you need to know

    1. It says they got into scoring opportunity then got fouled. Knights had more shots on target O'Connell m.o.m

    2. Wow Penights. Only scoring via penalties. The new Devonport

  3. Think the 2 lads doing the commentary need to have a listen to some games.
You don't need to talk every second and unless you have coached or played you shouldn't be telling the viewers what teams should be doing.

    1. Any chance FFT could have a refs rep discuss some of the decisions on their YouTube channel? There were some confusing decisions both ways. Credit where it’s due, the post game interviews with the managers was up quickly and a good addition. Cheers Anon FFT fan : )

  4. The fact that not one Glenorchy player argued the point may be the dead giveaway that it was actually a goal. Stop looking for drama that actually isn't there.

    1. Yes and that's when the ball is on its way down after hitting the top netting. First poster on here having a crack at the linesman needs to go look at this photo...he's in the perfect position to make the correct call.

  8. Interesting listening to Glenorchy coach interview, especially when starting to question ref decisions. Pretty poor form, poor excuses for not winning on the day. You would expect better from top coaches. They were not the better team on the day. Last 30 minutes had more attack but that's because it looks like South sat further back to protect a lead (don't know why teams do this when have been dominating play).

    2. Out of curiosity do you think Raph Reynolds travels down from Devonport to play for free?

      Delete
    3. 10:02 - I don’t think anyone at South travels 10 minutes to training for free, let alone Raphael. Lots of money being thrown around to all players

      Delete
    4. South Signed 2 knights players doubtful they're on nothing

      Delete
    5. I don’t think the Knights players from NZ & the mainland came over for the love of GK !!

      Delete
    6. 5:49 - I don’t think anyone is saying they did. It’s a known fact knights players are on very good money, the myth is that south players play purely for the love of the club

      Delete
  10. The Knights get two soft penalties for no effort, then complain about the ref. South dominated in all areas, the better side by far.

  11. Haha, the Knights and South’s pour more money into the NPL teams pockets weekly than what they totally spend on juniors every year

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. South’s junior program is pretty good if you ask me. Yeah the juniors play pretty much the same teams in the Dev, Launie and Hobart - but South teams do win a lot of the cups across all age brackets.

Sorry to break it to you that’s just how the world works and how any level of football works. If a club has the money or resources to attract players why not? It’s makes it more competitive (unless you’re Olympia and literally piss away money). And I think a lot of people would be surprised what clubs “pay” players. Couple hundred a game if that. Look at lower level Aussie rules..across the board there would be more money into that..whereas football/soccer is a worldwide played sport. Too many cry babies on here..same ones who are too selfish to see South(or any Tassie team for that matter) represent Tassie in the second division- whilst the cry babies want an A league team here..think it would make more sense to have a NSD to serve as a platform for an eventual A league side. Just my 3 cents

      Delete
    2. And play at the dog park with no lights? Their facilities are so far behind a NSD club ( who outside South Hobart would actually support such a bid) in the Tasmanian landscape.

      Delete
    3. Devonport would be a greater chance for a NSD club representing Tas. But they know the business case is flawed so why bother.

      Delete
    4. I’m sure some TLC/renovations towards Darcy St. Isn’t far fetched. Or find somewhere else in Hobart to play

      Delete
    5. That could be the case but the spokesperson from South states in his interview that South put a lot of work in and demanded that it's Darcy st or no party

      Delete
  12. South have managed to piss money away for the past 10 years pretty well if you ask me.

    For how many titles.
    Zero.

So paying all these players, taking thousands from all these poor parents to support your NPL team and then squandering money on an application which was never going to be successful.

Now who is pissing money away??
    Just my 4 cents worth.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And your proof that they’ve been paying players? Lot of he say she say. And even if they did, which club isn’t paying their players? So based on your logic titles can justify the amount of $ being put into NPL clubs? Far out.. in that case River, L United, Zebras, Borough, City shouldn’t even be in this conversation. And mentioned before South wins a big chunk of the dev, launie and Hobart cups. So what’s your point then?
      Just my 5 cents

  13. South far too good - especially when the whips were cracking early in the game.

Higher work rate displayed by their whole team and Knights struggled to get any rhythm.

Second goal conceded for Knights was a killer, dispossessed after trying to take someone on 20 yards from goal.

    2. Where are people getting issue with knights saying they deserved to win? Seems like the south people are a bit caught up with themselves your top of the table and should go on to win it now

No they didn't but their club doesn't LIE about not paying players.
How many imports have south had compared to knights over the years?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Just watched the highlights on YouTube. Knights easily had more opportunities to score if that is south at their best in years according to their coach I am flabbergasted.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Title is Souths to lose. If they beat Devonport I don’t think they can be caught. The only chance Knights have is to not even draw a game, must win everything. It has been tight up to this point which does make a difference, quite often in the recent past at this stage of the season it was nearly done and dusted.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Many comments on here about South not paying and Knights not paying is absolutely laughable.
Obviously many of you were not around when the state league was reintroduced in 2013.
South would have paid more players than any other club. Whether the club actually paid or a sponsor paid, it was till organised by the club.So all you South people commenting that South do not pay players or never paid players, wake up to yourselves.Knights have now had their turn at paying stupid sums of money. Also for you Knights supporters to suggest South pay players and they dont, you too get a grip of yourself.
Now, back to the game, South absolutely dominated Knights in the first half and Knights were lucky to be only 2 down at half time. How many times did the Knights keeper try and play from the back by playing directly to a team mate facing the wrong way with a player up his back side and lose the ball? They were fortunate that South failed to capitalise on those opportunities time after time. Then the second half was better for Knights however South could still have added one or two more also. Knights are poor in front of goal all day and dont appear to know how to restrict a team that plays out from the back.Their No 9 is the only one who puts any sort of pressure with the next line of defenders way too deep.If that is how they press, they have no idea.If that is how they are told to play then they would be better off having the 9 drop off deeper close to those in behind him.It is a complete waste of energy running from one centre back then to the other centre back and then back and then the opposition are out because you are knackered and failed to press them and win the ball. That happened time after time and iyt happens game after game.
    Much work needed there .
My opinion only for what its worth.

  23. Knights had two brilliant shots if the South's keeper hadnt pulled
    off 2 big saves Knights
    Would have one 4-3!

    1. Brilliant! If they were brilliant they'd be in the net. Maybe good shots that the keeper was able to save because they were in his sweet spot.
So the score was a win to South 3-2 which is fact. Not if the keeper didn't make 2 saves it would be a 4-3 win to GK!
