  1. Clarence left in the blocks. #11 scapegoated after 40 minutes (0-4)?

    ReplyDelete
  2. See what happens when C Smith decides to actually play football???

    ReplyDelete
  3. still couldn't help himself tho. Shooda bin booked for mouthing off to Clarence bench after scoring. lucky to get off park with 2 legs after that.

    ReplyDelete
  4. C smith can play when he wants. But stilled proved he is the most hot headed player in the league.

    ReplyDelete
  5. And as if the Clarence bench has never mouthed off the same to others.
Smithers was just getting one back from the last few years..no love lost with coach Brownie that's for sure.
All adds to the entertainment factor.
Was impressed with referee Collins tonight, really runs the games out well for a 50+?? year old. Couldn't see too much wrong with his decisions, yellow cards were probably spot on, although Parker for Clarence maybe lucky not to be booked also.
Early days but Clarence really struggled, back line sat very deep and poor Cripps had big Holmes wearing him like a glove and had no support.

  6. smithers is actually quality and is one of the leagues best players on his day, forget the attitude/peacocking. he showed clarence up tonight, very clinical.

had a bad game last week v south but i dont think many strikers will get much change out of ludford/brown.

clarence were horrible defensively. thought browny would have had them better drilled than that.

    ReplyDelete
  7. #11 copped a knock. had a decent game up until then too. knocked some decent balls in.

    ReplyDelete
  8. If last nights form is how they will play this year, Clarence will be glad Taroona is in the comp .Only thing stopping them going down.

    ReplyDelete
  9. New Town will get relegated before Taroona

    ReplyDelete
  10. great to see corey and the knights guys out celebrating after coreys great hatrick last night with alot of beers at the mustard pot hotel last night, if attendence were also a few former players in lincon conquest, ivan vuccica and marcus burn, a great night had by all

    ReplyDelete
  11. Let's not be silly. Statewide Cup is a coveted trophy.

    ReplyDelete
  12. its rare to see a player bought off just before half time and no trainer on the gorund to assess him just straight off thought he had cramp as he was stretching did he go innto game with an injury

    ReplyDelete
  13. great to see corey out after the game - WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  14. clarence actually had better of second half. cripps should have scored easily inside goal box but splayed his shot wide. clarence can play but were sadly asleep for first 30 mins. don't write them off yet. nandan is a jet.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Davo are yu a girl or a confused young man

    ReplyDelete
  16. browny was just simple out coached by fielding, and that's not the first time it's happened. Putting J sherman out on the wing just destroyed clarence and won the kinights the game

c smith is a bag of spunk

spunk english dictionary translation = courage and spirit

so all intelligent people take this as a great compliment.
hat trick , hat trick yabadabadoo
    well done knights

    ReplyDelete
  18. clarence showed some good form, its good taroona are in the comp, just another team clarence can beat, glenorchy were satisfactory there performance was pure luck.

    ReplyDelete
  19. J.Shermans strike that hit the post was outrageous loved it from behind the goal, didnt think koroma was offside more like he was behind the ball it was that far out.

    Mr.Video footage will be conclusive.

    ReplyDelete
  20. i would have to disagree knights didnt take there foot off the pedal they ran out of steam! they may look better on paper, but its only the first game and at the end of the season clarence will finish higher on the ladder then the knights will. the knights are over-rated and time will tell!

    ReplyDelete
  21. its was good 2 c knights u14s beat clarence this mrning and coach cory did a fantastic job

    ReplyDelete
  22. clarence:
sweeney - very over rated if rated at all and does not seem like he can fill the spot
toghill - gave away posession cheaply too often and does not have the temparement
lewis - is just too slow and simply is not a senior player
parker - had the worst game i have ever seen from him, more coaching than anything though playing him at sweeper where his distribution is terrible, purely a man marker or hard tackling mid
rees - was this a practical joke starting him?
stevens - always solid but went missing at times due to knights being on top
huigsloot.l - is just not in the same class as his brother
nandan - the shining light in the team and should not have gone off
    mcintyre - had a shocker
    hamlett - non existent
cripps - couldn't beat holmes ever
hunt - why didn't he start? best player in the squad at his best

    Knights:
Tatnell - unlucky not to keep clean sheet, answered critics
    grundy - never troubled
    dzelija - dirty but solid
holmes - one of the best and did well carrying cripps around for 90 mins in his pocket
huigsloot.j - consistently good as per usual
clay - back to fitness almost and gave the spark
white - looked much much better this week
fielding - worked hard and held team together both tactically and physically
    sherman.j - best on ground!
koroma - looking back to his best and did exceptionally well in the midfield
smith - clinical and at his best, ran sherman close for bog honors
roberts - struggled to contain his opponent
sherman.t - looked a bit slow but linked in well

  23. politics within clarence will destroy the club. Franco's ex state players and Brownies ex academy players are getting every opportunity in form or out, at the expense of other talented players in the club. Lack of loyalty to good club men has seen an exodus of young talent to other premier league and div 1 clubs. Watch out clarence these boys are out there to bite you on the bum!! Glenorchy knights case in point

    ReplyDelete
  24. well said anon hope they bit hard

    ReplyDelete
  25. Just to clarify, how many games are we into the season?

    ReplyDelete
  26. 1 game in and clarence are self destructing behind the scenes

    ReplyDelete
  27. I play at Clarence, and have done for a few years now. Andrew told me two seasons ago i will be playing seniors, yet, im still playing U19s. Its shit like this, which causes few to like what sort of person he is. I have little respect for him. Its only going to lose players, giving them false hope, and only telling them what they want to hear.

    ReplyDelete
  28. how many seconds does it take the knights to put 1 in the back of the net agaisnts clarence???? answer 90 seconds

    ReplyDelete
  29. How long did it take Clarence to finally win some bloody silverware? too frigen long! And still, no title. Wooo clarence

    ReplyDelete
  30. hmmm yes picking up on spelling mistakes on a blog. u must feel like a hero.

ummm sorry what was your profile..... oh ok thats right Corey number 8

    ReplyDelete
  31. by the way my sources are very reliable corey!!!

a couple of ppl u loosely call friends i believe.

certain knights midfielders/defenders that have spilled the beans perhaps.

u are making the blog a joke u tool.
do us all a favour a get a life.

    ReplyDelete
  32. hmmm me thinks there is too many knights people on here, or knights impersonators.

Maybe so "first coaching casualty" we get your point, and everyone can have a decent crack at who you are.

Lets not forget 7 days ago around this time, Glen Knights got touched up a bit by a tidy south outfit.

I did not like the 'petulance' or 'naivety' some knights players and i only mean 1 or 2 that showed last night after a couple goals up. They copped it last week and should know it doesnt need to really happen.

But when you have done the business after 30 odd mins you can afford to enjoy your time, as long as its not at the expense of the opposition.

    ReplyDelete
  33. yoda, the knights are the dark side, just like they were in ww2.

    ReplyDelete
  34. This Blog is gold.
Re Brown and his ways, lets not forget the elbow on Olympia import Ivan Zilic in the late 90s that put him out for 2-3 months, im sure Walter remembers that one.
Knights are arrogant when on song, but which team isn't when they are winning easily??
Lots of talent and experience in the Clarence reserves, Cannamella, Ling, a Scottish player??,Woolley?
They probably would have beat their senior team last night.
Still lots of games to go, lets not get too excited just yet.
Well done Taroona, hopefully they are not just one game wonders. Did they have cold showers at Taroona like the last two weeks at KGV?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Did you mean that game at Wentworth Park 2 last year?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Whoever thinks the derog. comments about Brownie are from Knights players, think again. Most likely from ex-players that have been at the receiving end of hollow promises

    ReplyDelete
  37. Joshy, do you think anonymous is all one person?!? i get that impression from your post.I really hope your not that stupid...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Having just watched the highlights video of last night, I'm curious how the Knights didn't have a player sent off last night, there were shocking tackles, and attempts at tackles from behind etc. Players #3 & #4 look like a couple of dirty pricks trying to take out a couple of young looking kids.

    ReplyDelete
  39. clarence kids were scared of the Knights last night

    ReplyDelete
  40. Cripps' baywatch running styleMarch 13, 2010 at 8:57 PM

Can somebody please put up a link for the highlight video?

    ReplyDelete
  41. hmmm Mr.Collins is the leading referee in the state and a fine adjudicator of match officialdom.

If he saw that the infirngements were, 1.reckless, 2 Endangering, 3 harmful he would have delt with it accordingly.

Have no fear the paddy is here.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Highlights video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdzbHE2xvvI

Cardable offences in my opinion at:

    0:40, 0:42, 1:16, 1:19, 2:16, 2:44, 3:00, 4:31, 4:57

... and that's coming from a player that thinks the game has been turned too soft due to some poor refereeing in recent years. I've always been considered a physical player, but I don't tackle from behind or studs up like most of the above!

    ReplyDelete
  43. check out the diving back block by the knights defender at 2.38. wtf!

    ReplyDelete
  44. One game does not a season make !!!

Smith good , but how long before he see's red .

Not surprised by the break a leg thing , its not the first time.

Love the game of Football !!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Devo about cripps' efforts against knights the last few times! gone missing?

    ReplyDelete
  46. phoenix im not surprised by those leg comments either having over previous years stood behind said coach and heard much the same directives given to the players.-- not sour grapes from me just fact.
hopefully all teams and supporters can focus on winning not whinging as the blog is becoming a depression zone with all the garbage on here

    ReplyDelete
  47. Lots of talent and experience in the Clarence Reserves that still got beaten 3-1. Haha.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Burke will be playing for phoenix next week, he was playing with Fulham a few years ago and will hopefully take over the reigns at clarence within the next few weeks, but shhhh its a secret

    ReplyDelete
  49. two clubs that are most critical of anyone else have contributed 59 posts about their love for themselves and each other.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm very entertaining if you are not interested in football.

thanks for the overview of the game walter otherwise we would think t was all about personality flaws.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hmmm well the 'Topic' is about those two sides so fair enough i think it is to comment from those supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  51. RE. the highlights:

That tackle at 1:19 should have been a straight red. Have no idea who the Knights' no. 4 is but he should have collected another four cards anyway!

I know this isn't the EPL we're watching here but the quality was dire. Please refs - let some skill show through.

    Tasblue (with no google a/c)

    ReplyDelete
  52. walter, how do posts like that last one get put up? surely that is not on? This site has lost the plot!

    ReplyDelete
  53. jeez corey say thank you quite a nice compliment settle down anyway probably just hasnt seen it yet i doubt his on here 24/7. your having a laugh with trying to get more free kicks the refs are already soft enough let alone sean collins. ivan in that respect has started to get a bit better. it is an amateur league shutting down and defense is going to come thru and win games. some of u must come to the game and think ur going to see 15 one touch passes set up a goal just like back in the old days apparently

    ReplyDelete
  54. Well Pilly (8.33) good to see that you know as much as the ref. in question about such tackles. Doesn't matter if he "got the ball" - he had to go through four legs first.

I hope that you don't play that way and that Dzalija doesn't play ever again. There is no place for that nowadays.

Check this out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j46uEhGUUYM&feature=related and then Eduardo and then Ramsey and then ....

    Tasblue

    ReplyDelete
  55. Agree completely Tasblue. I think it sums up FFT/Refereeing beautifully, when one of the main men in charge doesn't even pay a free kick to something like that from 5m away. INCOMPETENCE!

I hope Mr Freke & Mr Collins have a good look at that video and all the above mentions of cardable offences!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Clar having little sooks over Tony's tackles, they were nothing, Luke H for Clar does those tackles every week and gets away with it, about time someone told him he is playing with the big boys now.

How on earth Ben Parker stays on the pitch each week is beyond me aswell.

Also that left back for Clar is one of the worst players I have ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Pilli (9.55),

You are correct of course - fortunately he somehow missed! It was a 'diving in' tackle with studs showing - red card according to FIFA regs. nowadays.

I'm not a Clarence fan by the way - just a fan of football and that assault (it can not really be termed a tackle) has no part of the game.

  58. Tony D... legend!!

  59. Tony D!!! best and dirtiest defender in the league.
u need that in a player.

  60. jabba the real hutMarch 16, 2010 at 2:20 PM

clarence will go nowhere with jabba in the shadows of the brown and franco. get him in charge hes a great clubman and can rally the troops. he has been posterboy for the eastern charges for the past decade

    ReplyDelete
  61. sure jabba appeared in the wizard of oz played the lion

    ReplyDelete
  62. ever played against jabba .maybe plays the fool but yes ducking of the head in a contest cost him more games for a man of his size he was always scared /wary of contact from another player.

    ReplyDelete
  63. jabba the cowardly lionMarch 17, 2010 at 8:06 AM
