Josh Matthie named as Clarence Zebras best-and-fairest NPL player in 2022

Josh Matthie won the Clarence Zebras NPL Tasmania best-and-fairest award for the 2022 season.

He was presented with his award at the Clarence Zebras awards dinner at the Australian Italian Club on Saturday night.

Sam Hills won the Players’ Player Award, while Sam Tooze was the NPL side’s Best Clubman.

The Youth Rising Star Awards went to Elianna Diafokeris of the club’s Women’s Super League team and Aidan Featherstone, who played in goal for the NPL side towards the end of the season after injury ruled out Matt Dyson.

The Senior Rising Star Award went to Curtis Miley.

The club’s Golden Boot Award for the top scorer went to Women’s Super League player, Caitlin Stalker.

Georgia Burt was the Women’s Super League Players’ Player of the Year.

Daniel Baumgartner, Clarence Zebras’ American import, will be leaving the club after an injury-marred season.

Michael Monticchio is the club’s new technical director, while Brett Pullen has been reappointed as senior NPL coach.
