Two of the worst penalty decisions against City and Launy United today. Standard of refereeing in this competition is woeful

Anonymous said...

Standard of play from those two teams is not of standard either. Port coaches box love to jump around and yell. Return of Gedi for Riverside looked good. Launceston City have turned into a shambles. Experiment has not worked

Anonymous said...

3 Launceston teams
33 games = 6 wins
and City have 5 of those wins
If FFT had their time again would they still replace Olympia with United. If the answer is yea they should all be replaced

Anonymous said...

Olympia had to go!!! I don't think for one minute Olympia would be any better than United.

Anonymous said...

1117 agree. FFt have made a complete mess. They don’t have the understanding of our game here to make such decisions. All football people knew that 3 lonny teams would not work.

Anon 11.57 pm.
If FT did have their time again they would make the same decision.
The issue , I believe, is that at FT the tail is wagging the dog.
One person was responsible for the decision which was a personal one and not a decision for the good
of the game. This guy won’t be there much longer either.
Olympia may not be much better than United now but I am sure they would have attracted a few players that
would improve them.

Mate they probably have the best coach going around in Tasmania at the moment, with players that would want to play NPL they would have gone well.
Players will go where there is a decent coach.

That penalty against united for a clean clearance from the keeper is one of the worst calls I’ve seen. Free kick the other way unless you’re blind.

Anonymous said...

Yes. Lonny city penalty decision a shocker. All ball. Very poor decision from referee in a big moment in game

Anonymous said...

The standard of city and united is woeful

Anonymous said...

Disgraceful they forced out gedi to accommodate sysons mate stone for a pay check. Start again city

Anonymous said...

No way was that a bad call. CZ player got a touch to the ball before goalkeeper arrived. And goalkeeper arrived at pace with studs up albeit along the ground - penalty and yellow card I reckon.

Anonymous said...

Keeper blocked the ball with his leg as the momentum of both players caused contact. Look at the picture, nothing like studs up.

Anonymous said...

You’re clearly delusional

I’d take Gedi over Stone atm any day. He does not look interested at all and giving him the arm band over players who have been through it all was not a good start. Should never have left Port. Maybe Syson was not happy Gedi played instead of him at Port??

Anon 8.59 am. Best coach going around?
That’s why they are the position they are on the ladder.
Tine will tell whether your comment has any merit .

You must be a referee

Gedi and Joel are both great players, and their individual records speak for themselves! Gedi will look awesome at Riverside, but any player capable of kicking over a can would look good there at present. Stone far from his best. The only difference is that Stone has never left an NPL club mid-season, and it’s two for Gedi now after Port in 2018.

Only those internal to the group can make any comments on Leadership and those complaining are likely disgruntled parents of fellow (over-rated) players.

Anonymous said...

Are you trying say Olympia have the best coach going round? Please stop and seek urgent medical advice if so.

Anonymous said...

the difference is Olympia beat knights 3-1, lost to south, kingborough and knights 2-1. They beat riverside twice who united can’t even beat. Olympia would be atleast slightly more competitive in the npl and they wouldn’t have a 0-11 record like united. the decision to include 3 Launceston teams is ridiculous and shows how smart FT are. Surely everyone would rather see olympia in the npl over riverside, how they deserve a continuous position in the npl season after season is unreal.

Anonymous said...

Didn’t Stone leave Hobart Zebras mid season? Gedi would walk into City’s team at present.

Anonymous said...

When was stone at zebras?

Anonymous said...

Contentious walked out or forced out?

Anonymous said...

The comments about Stone and Gedi are hilarious, Gedi has now been let go/removed for disciplinary reasons from two separate clubs once in 2018 and again this season, He then proceeded to see who would pay the more money out of Riverside and Launie United, Gedi Krusa and Syson never played at Port in the same season so being picked over one or the other is also false (Do some research) if you are a soccer person you can see the leadership Stone brings to one of the youngest teams in the league, They’ve gone from a long ball team to playing some good stuff, People wonder why theirs no qualified young coaches around, When idiots make uneducated comments like the above, If you want to put some weight behind opinions maybe do some solid research first.before making ridiculous statements.

Of course people external to the group can comment on leadership. Dyson was given the job based on who he could bring with him and not on his ability to coach. He then gave the captaincy to a new player that has underperformed. I would say leadership is an obvious problem and the results would indicate I’m correct.

Anonymous said...

No not a parent just someone who enjoys seeing city as a perennial underachiever. Give Dyson a 5 year extension

Stone was at Zebras for the start of 2014

I don't know for certain but I'm fairly certain Stone and Clark are Co captains as I’ve seen them both wear the armband ? Stone was also assistant captain at Devonport and won various titles proving leadership, I would be interested to hear your expert view on who you would have as captain at city in that group? If you were to ask Devonport and the current City Team who brings more leadership over Gedi and Stone i think you'd get a overriding answer, Im also unsure it would be who he could bring as he only signed 1 Devonport player? and had to battle it out for others signatures like Anderson,Humpa and players like Simeoni went their due to the standard of Citys pre season or the lack of that at riverside, Its easy to slate coaches after loosing a few games i would of been interested to hear your views when they won 4/7 and drew to south away in the first round of games with a side full of players who have had little to non NPL experience, Also take a look at the experience in all the other sides around them Clarence,South,Devonport,Knights where do you expect City to finish ? I am a big fan of having younger coaches in the state and i believe the fact that coaches like him, Hess are here and giving it a go its brilliant, Id be interested to know how you became such a expert and how successful you've been in the state compared to a few of the people you've mentioned above, My guess is that you wouldn't be fit to lace their boots.

Maybe City need to go back to long balls as by geez their game plan is not working trying to play out with people who can’t pass a ball around. Looking good playing means nothing if you get swiped by a team with a better tactic. Pretty simple coaching ideology. Maybe someone is trying to keep a job with this post!!

Anonymous said...

Clark should be the sole captain. He has been at the club through it all. Stone just rolls in and gives them cards. That’s not leadership qualities. Just have to look at his body language the last few weeks when goals are scored. Pitchy shows more passion from the bench with his behaviour and language. Young coaches need to earn their stripes! Dyson maybe should have benefitted from coaching a U21 team first to learn how to work with youth. Unsure what he coached before the City appointment unless he was an assistant in the Port set up?

Anonymous said...

If I was Stone, I’d be heading back to Port at the drop of a hat next year

Anonymous said...

I’ve had my fair share of success all be it a few years ago now. Never lost a game 8-1 either

Anonymous said...

Stone is a shadow of the player he once was. Gedi is clearly the better player at present

Anonymous said...

Did city replace lino with syson with the lofty ambitions of fifth place?

Anonymous said...

So to be clear because Gedi has moved to riverside he’s the better player now ? He’s been at City for a few years and what’s he done in that time ? Stone won 2 BNFs in that time and Gedi pretty much begged port to take him back and they wouldn’t have anything to do with him, I’m pretty sure Stone maybe reacts that way as winners don’t like conceding goals,I’m all for opinions Champ but it seems like all you have is that you adore Gedi who bearing in mind didn’t make a dent in the u21s league and dislike one of the most successful players to ever play NPL TAS, I’ve no idea who syson coached before City either but assume he’d have to have accreditation to meet the NPL criteria as they don’t give that away in cereal boxes you have to earn them, Maybe you should message these players and coaches and tell them what they are doing wrong and tell them about how to coach and be such a top top player/coach with such high opinions you must of been a pro ? You’ve avoided the question again too where should city finish in the current table ? I’m also sure if Lino wanted to carry on there wouldn’t have been a job available? I highly doubt you had the success that both Stone and Syson had at Devonport in this state, anyway good luck being such a negative Nev and please let others know where they can sign up to a subscription for being on Krusa’s biggest fan boy base in Tasmania

Anonymous said...

Did City employ Lino with the lofty ambitions of 5th place, which is all he achieved? Did they employ Hardwick with the lofty ambitions of last?

The comments are Clark v Stone as captain seem ridiculous. Just because you’ve been somewhere a long time doesn’t make you a good leader and Captaincy is not something anyone is entitled to, nor should it be based purely on performance.

The mid-table is extremely tight and with a final series in play this year, it’s actually going to be really exciting to see how second to sixth end up at the end of the year with additional silverware on offer. We have a comp that is actually going to be interesting and people are still negative about anything and everything!!

Anonymous said...

I dont think anyone in the South wants to see Olympia play NPL again.

Anonymous said...

Sorry I did miss that question - fair bit of rambling to get through. City will finish sixth. Congrats coach syson and city on finishing above river and united!

Anonymous said...

Anyone care to elaborate on the supposed disciplinary issues around gedi. Any truth to it?

Anonymous said...

Would he start in ports team this year?

Anonymous said...

Left at half-time in a match he was playing in and in the process refused to sit on the bench that he was also selected in…

Anonymous said...

Is that right champion?
