  1. Devonport cooked. Backline all over the show. Slow. Can’t pass a ball. Midfield non existent. Japanese boy skillfull but gets bullied physically. Bidwell doesn’t look interested. No forward still. Put the cue in the rack lads

  2. Walt. The CZebras goal was actually KVincent. Was incorrect on livestream screen. If you watch footage you can see.

    2. City and better than South. We live in Souths head. Prospect Park will give them nightmares for years to come too.

  4. Hey Walt, I thought it was a 3 team title race? According to your post a few weeks ago (Monday, June 17, 2024), Kingborough has little chance at the title. Yet now just weeks later they are above Devonport and are only 4 points off being top of the league. Just curious about your thoughts on this, would you maybe like to rethink it? Or will they just "snare" it?

  5. Boro look dangerous if they can keep up the form .

  6. Long drive home for the midnight South, “title favourites” they said

    ReplyDelete
  7. Can’t believe you guys actually thought south were title favorites. A draw to a 9 men river and losing to launie city AGAIN. Shambles of a club. No culture, no footballing ability, no passion. Crumbles of a club.

  8. Kingborough dominant again this week. As I said they will win all the games from now on. Title favorites.

  9. Kingborough Lions are such a massive and relevant club. I am going to name my son after Fred Hess.

  10. Kingborough lions play football like no other on earth. What Sir Alfred Hess has brought to this state is truly a magnificent work of art. Never seen such enjoyable football to watch. KINGBOROUGH ARE MASSIVE!!

  11. The football South Hobart played today was disgusting. Playing like that they are going to get mauled by the lions next week.

  12. Since Capellino + Higgins signing Port 0-1-2 hard schedule but bad form start for them

    ReplyDelete
  13. To be fair to Walter he has got his title race predictions wrong but so did everyone who doubted Borough, we’re winning the lot.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Fred Hess will have a statue, stand and a retired jersey at lightwood park by the end of his dominance of Tasmanian Football.

  15. The lions are something else. It’s hard to see them not winning the league at this point. They will the team to beat for the next decade I assure you.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Sir Alfred Hess himself along side his lion brothers will dominate this island for the next centurie. The war they are bringing for the rest of the season is something unseen in football. The culture or the lions is on another planet. Sir Alfred Hess should govern this nation to conquere the world of football. His style is different to anything to ever grace the surface of Earth. It’s immaculate.

  23. I'm all for silencing the Kingborough fans in the comments but saying 'Kitten Den' isn't even funny, just comes across as sad and embarrassing. I'd rather see some proper insults get brought out, or maybe even someone going and saying something to them during a game? No one has tried doing that yet, they seem to be lovely young men when they are running the BBQ at Lightwood, so I'm sure they are willing to have a chat with you about queries and concerns.

  25. If a Southern Tasmanian coach had
Sacked off a goal keeper that had the most clean sheet and then got rid of an import to then replace that import with one just as in affective there would be murder to pay! According to sources and the sources are the players themselves on snapchat the $$$$ port are paying are huge. And now they don't even play for each other.

    2. Most I’ve ever heard of in Tasmanian football. Not worth anywhere near that. Must be plenty in the kitty at Devonport. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

  28. I feel sorry for the players at knights, alot of quality players and seem to be a good group but supporters and staff just embarrassed themselves last night with the carry-on. Very short memories.

    2. Yeah. The players must hate having supporters.

  29. What was more embarrassing was the way Devonport winge and moan for every decision that don’t go there way. Been going on for ages. Paid massive money for new strikers on top of the ones they already bought and still cant get a goal.

  30. Xuan is quality but you just can’t walk into a team and gel straight away because of his size he gets put as a target forward but he’s not put him on the left wing and let him float then you will see the best of him
Knights are a strong outfit best 16 in the state not much depth outside of that looking at other results but not too many holes in that first 16 just glad they stick with the young keeper and not used that other clown
    Sth still have defensive shortages
Kingbourgh love a roar but two games vs knights and way to many goals against snd chances created against
No title if you can only beat the bottom few
Well done to Syson and pitchy everyone is first to criticise but few complement when due
Zebras has been a really hard watch to see players on an npl field that are not up to champ level unfortunately shows where they are at - trying to find a positive is very hard yes play kids but are they learning or going backwards ? At least Jayden is staying fit but also what’s with subbing the captain all the time ?
Riverside look like they are playing with done bottle and for each other their coach can give you a headache but with krusa pulling the strings they are getting sone results
United - I feel for Leno but you can’t make custard with mouldy bread
I think watching sth east taroona and eagles this year I’d put money on them against zebras and Launceston utd
Knights win comfortably by the end who they retain for seasons on will determine their long term success

  31. One Knights supporter turned up after it was 2 nil, alas was drunk, extremely loud profanity, he was told at half time by many people to behave himself and he did. The other loud banter was based on a comment from one Devonport player to another that was overheard by the Knights supporter and he repeated loud and often. Let’s face it when you hear the opposition arguing amongst themselves and you have an opportunity to remind them that they are having problems, why wouldn’t you. The keeper made the mistake of interacting with them as well, not a good idea really. Now as far as supporters and staff embarrassing themselves and having short memories, the feral members at Devonport have been disgraceful over the years as well, so be it, and of course wasn’t the City coach sent off against South Hobart not so long ago, So I ask, who really has the short memory. Clubs also seem to be quite happy with the amount of travelling supporters the Knights have, they do spend good money at opponents venues. Of course if you don’t like the revenue they could BYO. It was good to see the City players etc come into the new clubs rooms after the game, now who would have thought it, but they are a different bunch of blokes off the park after the game.

    1. I agree. We need the Knight$ players to travel so they can $pend their money

  32. Devonport a shambles. Even arguments between the players like school kids about who is taking the penalty. Captain had to sort it out. lol. . Capellini reaction when he had the ball taken off him. And then the missed pen was priceless. Big troubles with the new guard. Bye bye title.

Unfortunately, it does not seem like you know your history very well young padawan.
South Hobart were the whipping boys of Tasmanian football for the first 90 years of their existence.

When playing them in those years, it wasn't whether you would come away with the 3 points, but more about how many goals you would score against them.

Even Metro had won more than them back in those days.

Devonport were always a competitive outfit all through their history so putting South Hobart and them in the same sentence is a bit laughable.

  35. Probably 2 points in the era you’re on about?

  38. ok how about when the ABC used to occassionally televise nationally a game from South Hobart Oval. I think the program was called sportsview. I remember one of the commentators name was Benny woods. The camera set up and commentators scafold was next to the stand on the grass.
As a kid I use to watch them commentate the game. I also remember watching the game on TV when my father didnt take me to the game for punishment. Always seemed to be Juventus Olympia and Croatia as the headline teams. Anyone else recall this? Or perhaps I dreamt it? Walter?
