*****
In the WSL, Glenorchy Knights were a little fortunate to win, but credit to them for their clinical penalties.
Hannah Walsh put Kingborough ahead in the 31st minute with a powerful drive from just inside the box.
Knight equalised through an own-goal conceded by Teigan Hennessy 7 minutes later.
Knights’ Sarah Bolonja had a great chance to win the game before the end but she scooped her shot high over the bar when well placed.
Shortly after, Kingborough were unlucky when a free-kick came back off a post.
The Knights scored all their penalties, while Christabelle Moore hit the post for the Lions, thus ending the contest.

Kingborough played quite well considering they had 4 major players unavailable for the match tonight. Knights defense looked solid tho throughout the 90.
ReplyDeleteWho exactly were Lions missing?
DeleteCorrect me if I’m wrong but I believe Noah Meis, Alexander Brown, Kawano and there new midfielder who I’m not sure of the name.
DeleteKnights missing their striker too
DeleteWho played better, king or glenorchy in 90 minutes? (wsl)
ReplyDeleteFrom what I saw Boro actually looked decent! Knights while having a good youth core seemed to struggle in the final 3rd they’ll need to score goals to win games.
DeleteNumber 27, Gordon I believe looking like a bright young player for lions
ReplyDeleteCheers Bob we know he’s your grandson !
