  1. Devonport’s Brexit-style football looks to be effective against almost anyone in Tassie… apart from most of the teams down South, apparently.

    1. Weakest Devonport side in years.

    2. Time for Ballantyne to prove his worth as a coach then.

    3. Should have had 2 red cards for full frontal contact not going for the ball typical Devonport when loosing

    4. Totally agree

    5. Agreed with the below! Souths defence struggled yesterday though as well!

    6. Port were very lucky to beat Lonny City last week . Only Hobart team they can beat is Clarence. They are still the champions of winging and complaining tho

    9. By the way noticed Devonport Coach once again still chirps at the opposing players directly really not professional at this level

  2. Kingborough - pretenders.

  3. Sadly, the Port are cooked. 4-5 of their players that started yesterday (who have been fantastic over the years) are now in decline. Bundled out of the cup and they'll be lucky to finish top 4 in the league.

  4. South East should dispose of Clarence and make the State League look very average. It is anyway. look at the Uni women they have been ever consistent over the years.
White eagles have also been very consistent.
The Mens/Women's top leagues are rubbish and that's due to the governing body over the years and these leagues have to stay the way they are due to FA and the Australia cup.
At least AFL woke up to the downfall but maybe too late for them.

    1. Exactly, 10years ago before the WSL things were healthy then statewide league has seen the decline in both men's and women's competitions.
We have had so many women leave game or go to lower league,I think it is to late to save leagues.

    2. This is crap the overall standard of the npl in much higher than the preceding northern and southern leagues. We do need promotion and relegation like football leagues around the world.

    3. Girls are going to AFL or basketball these days. You can see why. Don’t have to travel far. The state league needs to die

  5. One would think Mr Kopra would review the game and realise he made an error in booking Devonport playing for diving in the dying embers of game. Looked like a penalty from my position at the ground, footage only verifies that.

    1. Keep crying Devonport.

    2. Penvonport support above

    3. I agree. I was at the game and at the time it didn’t seem like a penalty. But looking back at the footage, there’s definitely contact - have seen penalties been called for much less. And Kopra was quick to blow the whistle and issue a yellow card..

    4. Keep crying Penvonport Lucky it wasn’t at valley road with a certain referee. Pen every time for Penvonport. And Usually when it shouldn’t be.

    5. Definitely a penalty. Unlike the two given at Lightwood Park yesterday.

    6. Keep crying port. What is clear is the footage of dev no 8 pushing south player in the back as part of dev second goal. Should not have stood.

  6. Also Devonport disallowed goal for off side to put them up 2-1 completely different game from there on.
Video clearly shows two south players keeping him onside.
About time FT put some time and money into the refereeing standards.

    1. And Bidwell should have got a red card early on for a late high, studs first tackle.

    2. We can’t have South not win this year. They are going into the Second Tier remember. They are elite club.

    3. Yeah Nah...how can you tell from that camera angle? Would have to be in line to know that. Looks offside, player knew it as well, he had the best view across the line...no protest there.

    4. And I suppose the video shows no contact on paine and kopra was right to give him a yellow and no penalty.

  9. Huge workload from Bidwell, would love to see the possession stats - he had most of them

    1. Port are very ordinary without him.

  10. Bidwell is a gun. A grader. Most of the Port are only battlers now
