South Hobart, the current leaders in the NPL Tasmania competition, face a stern test of their credentials when they travel to Valley Road on Saturday to take on third-placed Devonport City.
South Hobart beat Devonport 4-3 at South Hobart Oval in the Lakoseljac Cup recently so the southerners will be full of confidence for this clash.
Devonport have had a lean season to date and could be under severe pressure against the only team not to have lost a game this season.
South Hobart have scored more than twice as many goals as Devonport this season, but they have conceded slightly more than their opponents.
South Hobart have been vulnerable at the back at times and Devonport will be seeking to exploit this vulnerability.
Second-placed Launceston City host sixth-placed Riverside Olympic and should win and put pressure on leaders South Hobart, especially if they lost to Devonport.
Fourth-ranked Glenorchy Knights entertain second-last Launceston United at KGV Park and should return to winning ways after an embarrassing slip-up last week against Launceston City, when they lost 5-1 at home.
Bottom-side Clarence Zebras have one of their best chances to get points on the board when they entertain fifth-placed Kingborough Lions United at Wentworth Park.
The Lions have been running hot and cold and Clarence Zebras showed improvement last week when they succumbed only 2-0 away to Devonport.
