Tasmanian Institute of Sport Women’s Football Head Coach, Vicki Linton, has been appointed to national team duties.
Linton will take up the position of assistant coach for the U17 Women’s national team.
Linton travelled to Canberra in May and June for four-day training camps as part of the preparation for the Asian Football Confederation Championships in November.
These championships act as World Cup qualifiers for 2010.
Also in attendance was TIS Men’s Football Coach, Dean May, in the role of National Goalkeeper Coach for both the U17 national team camp and the U14 Girls’ national team selection camp, of which TIS player Jessie Williams was a part.
This is the first time Tasmania has been so well represented at national team level, both on and off the field.

The Forestry Tasmania Southern Premier League match between Kingborough Lions United and New Town Eagles scheduled for Lightwood Park has been postponed, as has the Division One match at Pontville between Hobart United and Christian United.
Meanwhile, it seems as if all Australian Rules game are going ahead.
It is high time councils looked after their soccer grounds as they do their Australian Rules grounds.

hats off to Jessie for her great achievements and to Vicky Linton for her appointment.
But ... National Goalkeeper Coach for both the U17 national team camp and the U14 Girls’ national team selection camp
What exactly does that mean? It sounds like Dean May helped out the goalies at a team camp.
