Riverside are an embarrassment to the competition. Can’t string 2 passes together They getting smashed yet again this year. This time by the third bottom team. not a great look for the competition when the ir goalkeeper is wasting time to keep it at 10 nil to avoid further damage
3 teams in Launceston is going about as well as expected then.
100% guarantee you every Southern Championship club including Metro will show more fight and competition than the Launceston NPL clubs.
Adding launie united was never gonna work, 2 teams in launie are enough especially when 1 of them is riverside. Should’ve kept Olympia or another southern team in the npl.
Now I completely agree that 3 teams in Launceston is unsustainable, but that applies to the future. Did United actually take anyone from River year? The reality is if Launceston still only had 2 teams, or if City pulled out and Riverside were the only Launceston team, they would still be at the bottom
Olympia would have been as bad if not worse. They may never get back to the NPL :-)

Watching reply of Knights vs Launie city. Can anyone explain why in the 90th min Stone was not given another card with the tackle against the Canadian? Already had a yellow I though & looks as though he took his legs out. Surely should have been second yellow. Not what you know in Tassie NPL. It’s who you know.
FT should be ashamed of themselves. They are ruining our game as they have no understanding of our game here and what works and what doesn’t. Everyone knew 3 Lonnie teams would ruin the league.

A big LOL moment last weekend when Channel 7 sports news said Riverside were looking to kickstart their season in their game against Launceston City. Their 10-0 loss yesterday is another match to underline how pathetic this NPL competition is.
What’s crazy is that riverside WERE a lot worse than. Olympia last season. And the season before that. fT really have no idea
How many people have seen the CEO of FT attend a game. Any game apart from when there is a photo opportunity to present a trophy. We need someone who understands and is passionate to drive our game forwards. Should be more than just collecting a pay check each week.
Has anyone ever seen a league where the third bottom side has the most goals scored for in the entire competition ?
12.40, obviously olympias squad would be different if they were in npl mate, when a team moves down to the championship most of their players seek npl game time and experience so they leave meaning you can’t compare olympias team this season to npl because things change champ.
Anon 12.40. Mate olympias champ side wouldn’t get beat 10 like riverside. Riverside have never been good and never will be good, Olympia have the opportunity to rebuild. I don’t think riverside have won more than 3 games in their npl time so saying olympia would be worse is out of this world.

4:07, who has left Olympia from the 2022 season? They are a mid-table championship side and will not attract any decent signings at this rate.
9:01, 10 players out of their 23 npl squad have left from 2022 as well as a coach mate. And of course they aren’t going to attract good signings as a championship club. But if they were still in the npl they would’ve kept most of those players and they would attract signings and would be a much more competitive side than riverside. You don’t have much common knowledge around football in tas.
For goodness sakes - shut the state league and go regional

with the 10 players you suggest have left.
Riverside actually beat them towards the end of the season last year.
Look inside and you may find part of the problems.
So much bagging out of clubs on this site. If it’s not an attack against Port at the top it’s now at the bottom sides. No wonder the league is in tatters with keyboard warriors typing their opinions but don’t put a face or name to their comment.
Let’s face it, the quality and quantity of players is not in the state for a sustainable senior state league.
Just look at the State League Footy which also has greater resources and more $$$.
When you play for peanuts and work full time, people won’t commit with the travel required year in year out. Throw in family commitments most players have say 24+ years of age.
Riverside is only 4 wins from fourth atm. Yes that may not happen but just shows the reality of the comp.
What’s the answer?
Let’s see what FFT does as it cannot keep going as it is. Back to south and north, conference style cross over games. Unsure… but it needs addressing fast.
Riverside beat them once out of the 3 times they played each other. Olympia beat knights, and lost by a goal to knights, south and kingborough. I can’t say the same for riverside so look at the results and performances, there’s no way riverside are better than Olympia.
10:04 this is the opposite of my point. Yes I get 3 teams in Launnie is too many, but I don’t think Riverside’s incompetence can be blamed on Launceston United being added to the league. They are a shambles regardless!

Rule - If, when a free kick is taken, an attacking team player is less than 1 m from a ‘wall’ formed by three or more defending team players, an indirect free kick is awarded.

Should change the club name to Olympia Keyboard Warriors. Definitely not warriors on the pitch these days.
Riverside Olympic have only won 9/89 games across 5 NPL Tasmania seasons.
Glenorchy Knights had won 9/63 games in 3 seasons before bring dropped to Southern Championship in 2016.
Clarence United had won 8/87 games in 4 seasons before the merger in 2020.
Olympia Warriors had one bad season before being dropped to Southern Championship this season.
So how long can Riverside Olympic survive in NPL Tasmania? But it's Football Tasmania so you never know.
I like the idea of a 6 team competition that being Clarence Zebras, Devonport Strikers, Glenorchy Knights, Kingborough Lions, Launceston City, South Hobart play a 20 round season 4 games playing each team 2 home 2 away. A fair and even fixture. Most if not all games being very competitive.
