South Hobart sent out a warning to the other Tasmanian NPL teams today by beating the visiting Pascoe Vale 3-0 at South Hobart Oval.

The visiting Victorian play in Victoria’s NPL 2 competition.

South Hobart’s new senior NPL coach, Max Clarke, has worked in Victoria for a few years until returning to Tasmania recently and this may have helped him prepare his team for this game.

He would have had the intelligence on Pascoe Vale and his team obviously had their measure.

South Hobart’s Women’s Super League side thrashed the visiting Geelong Galaxy 9-0 at South Hobart Oval today.

That made for an auspicious start for their new coach, Ken Morton, who stepped down as the club’s NPL coach at the end of last season.

Glenorchy Knights got a commendable result today in their NPL hit-out against Riverside Olympic at KGV Park, winning 6-2.

In the Under-21 clash between the sides, Glenorchy Knights beat Riverside Olympic 5-1.

Clarence Zebras’ NPL side lost 3-1 to the visiting Brunswick Juventus at KGV Park.

The game was goalless at half-time.

Brunswick took the lead shortly after the resumption but Clarence Zebras were level shortly after.

Two more goals by the visitors proved too much for Clarence Zebras to handle.

Incidentally, Clarence Zebras beat Launceston United 5-2 away last weekend which was a sort of revenge for United NPL win over Clarence Zebras last season.

Kingborough Lions United downed Southern Championship side Taroona 5-1.

Devonport City beat Launceston City 2-1 away at Prospect.
