Devonport Strikers have won the 2023 NPL Tasmania title.

Tonight’s 5-0 win over bottom-side Launceston United away at Birch Avenue gave the Strikers 49 points, which takes them out of reach of second-placed Glenorchy Knights with 3 games to play.

It is Devoport’s sixth title in 8 seasons.

They won the league in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and now in 2023.

South Hobart won it in 2017 and Glenorchy Knights in 2021.

In tonight’s game, Brody Denehey hit a hat-trick and Roberton Fernandez Garrido grabbed a brace.

Ugh said...

Despite earlier talk of a three and two horse race, this season was always going to be yet another "Devonport-and-who-can-beat-them" type of year. Next year will likely be the same. We also had two of the eight teams non-competitive all season and the three Launceston clubs finishing in the bottom four places. There is nothing to celebrate here, unless you are a Devonport supporter.
