South Hobart easily accounted for University 5-1 in a Men’s Southern Championship game at KGV Park tonight.
Daniel Arnaiz opened the scoring for South Hobart in the 21st minute, but Stuart Carnaby equalised for University in the 39th minute.
Arnaiz completed his brace in the 40th minute to give South Hobart a 2-1 lead at the interval.
Both goals by Arnaiz were brilliantly executed and the University defence were unable to cope with the youngster’s speed, mobility and technical attributes.
University’s passing was poor and they were rarely able to find their centre-forward, George Ivanov.
University’s goalkeeper, Benjamin Farrell, was kept busy and made everal crucial saves in the first half.
University fell further behind in the 64th minute when a dangerous South Hobart attack resulted in Rhys Goold putting the ball into his own net.
Josiah Otto made it 4-1 for South Hobart in the 75th minute.
Two minutes later, Oliver White added South Hobart fifth to complete a comfortable victory.

If south Hobart had that exact team they had tonight they would go along way to pushing eagles in my opinion.
Embarrassing by Uni. Recruit an entirely new team this year only to take a massive step backwards and crash out of the top 4
I don’t understand comments like this, have you looked at the team sheets from earlier in the year to last night? Uni have had 4 or more players injured in the last 2-3 weeks it’s always going to happen with half their team out.
Agreed, title in their hands with 6 games to go and they flopped....
Arguably the best team to watch when at their best, but that means nothing! Eagles too experienced.
I’d suggest you have a look at the two lineups on dribl, and therein lies your answer. You evidently weren’t at the game, so best not to comment.
A couple of NPL drop-backs and their selection of the best Championship/U-21’s? You’d think so.
Uni flop lots of talk
Every team has injuries and unavailabilities. Something that champions deal with.
Pretty easy to have a team like that when they have champ 1 and champ playing one day and npl and 21s playing another.
I really don't understand the ( don't like the word) hate directed at Uni.
A bit harsh on Uni. They had players out for one reason or another, played good football until they copped injuries throughout the game. Finished with 10 on the pitch.
As well as uni have recruited, that simply does not even compare to the depth that Eagles have. Eagles have players playing in their 2s and 3s who would get a regular run in other Championship teams. That is no knock on uni at all. I'm surprised Eagles hadn't wrapped up the title earlier but that's neither the here nor there
