FFT on the hunt for new personnel

Photos (Top to Bottom): Kenneth Hansen (left) is leaving FFT, while rumours persist that CEO Michael McIntyre (right) may be next; Former TIS goalkeeper Isolina Ottavi on her way to Georgia, USA

Kenneth Hansen, the match manager for Football Federation Tasmania, has resigned and will leave the organisation in January.

Tom Clamp, the registration officer and ‘front-office’ person, has also left and will pursue his university studies.

The search for replacements for the two men is on.

The FFT Board is believed to have opted to place the TIS men’s team in a Premier League Reserves competition, with games to be played on Wednesday evenings.

This means that each club’s reserve side will play three mid-week matches over the season against the TIS.

The proposal to play the State Under-15s in Division One has yet to be ratified.

There is some opposition to the State Under-14s playing in the Under-19 competition and they may well end up in something like an under-17 league.

Former TIS women’s team goalkeeper Isolina Ottavi has won a sports scholarship to an American university.

She will leave Tasmania between Christmas and New Year.

Reg Tolputt died in Hobart yesterday aged 77.

Reg, a member of the Salvation Army, founded a club called Salvos in the 1970s.

They folded after a few years in the minor leagues.

Reg, David Martin and I hosted a regular Saturday morning radio show about soccer on 7HT in the early 1980s and I fondly remember those days.

Reg also served as team manager to one of Steve Darby's State teams.

Condolences to Reg's family.

Admin role without experienced registrations person will be tough going. Altho based on comments made previously by bloggers maybe this is their chance? or would they rather take over CEO Role?

the new man in charge is called anonymus

There's a whisper doing the rounds that the CEO will be going soon. Dust off your CVs and update them all previous applicants.

FFT will be a real ship without a rudder then!

Maybe FFA can run it from Sydney then. But, then again, they probably don't even know we exist (except for when they get their cut of our registration fees).

FFT staff dropping like flys, seems to be the norm the last couple of years. Does anyone know the reason. I will tell you, they need to look in thier own backyard. There are some staff that have been there for sometime, and all they do is drum up rumours and stories of, "I could do better, im better than him." We and all know who it is, and you dont here much about him. Happy to sit cosy in his little world, and pi** everyone off.

looking forward to a few 2 foot tackles on the 14 year old TIS players.

Anonymous , you seem to have quite a bit to say re FFT !!!
I presume the second comment is from the same Anonymous ?
Getting a bit personal arent we ?
May be you can step up and do better than the person you are referring to ?Or are you full of sh.....?

just give the top job to itchens- he can't seem to leave the place.

jackson marsh has applied- he's looking to get out of the computer technics trade with the internet firm he's working with at the moment.

FFT - Pay peanuts, you get Monkeys!
It's simple really!

I agree with eightball, maybe itchens is the person for the job. That is what he tells everyone else. Are we onto something here!!!

And interesting, touch a nerve did we ???

Can tell you one thing the CEO is good at.. running.
Won the 64Km Bruny Island Ultra Marathon recently in just under 6 hours. Fair effort in deed.
Could be running from the CEO position as well..

One person, and one person only to run FFT. COREY SMITH..

Interesting said...

Anonymous at 1.57. No you didnt hit a nerve with me at all.I just believe that it is gutless to make disparaging remarks about specific individuals, in the comfort and safety of hiding behind your computer and an alias . I dont have an issue with expressions of ideas ,or criticism , but not personal attacks aimed at individuals.

RANGERS PRESIDENT said...

Can only speak as you find, and I have always found Ken good to deal with. Has helped us out when required over a nuber of issues. Havent has a lot to do with Tom but is polite on the phone and helps where he can.

If Michael is to go, 3 staff members out of a small team would be a disaster for FFT. Interesting to see how the new president and board deal with it

what was i thinking?? itchens love child smith would be perfect. he's taken futsal and underage kids away from fft's indoor soccer, i guess he has got some brains to take down an entire company

Matty Russell is looking for a job, maybe he could front the desk at FFT HQ in place of Clampy.

must be terrible to have someone with some honesty and integrity at the helm as ceo maybe not hard enough to make the tough decisions itchens seems to know too much and remains the one person that the broom that sweeps clean never gets to .with the never ending turnover of staff at fft dale is the trainer of every new employee maybe he is indispensible i would ask your opinion on this fellow bloggers .

I am sitting by the phone!!!!!

Toyota1 ,are you and your work scrutinised publicly as you are trying to do with individuals at FFT ?I am not agreeing or disagreeing with comments of the performance of FFT , but to incite criticism of individuals and their performance at work is not your role or anyone else's for that matter. If you wish to conduct an appraisal of FFT staff ,join the organisation as CEO and then you can judge and measure performances.

toyota1 said...

so interesting or interested you defend i have some valid critical comments who is right you or me .grow up

toyota1 said...

by the way interesting my work is scrutinised every day but my head is not that far up mmmmyyyy aaaasthat i have to defend mediocre performances .is dale your dad or uncle perhaps

Best wishes to Kenneth H - a true gentleman who was always genuinely happy to help which unfortunately isn't always the FFT experience. Also 'tante auguri' to Isolina Ottavi on her U.S scholarship - well done.

Toyota1 ,it seems its about time you grew up.You sound like a very immature human being. No Dale is not related to me . I was not defending Dale but suggesting that your comments about specific individuals and the criticism you publicly mention are not warranted. I am scrutinised in my work on a daily basis also ,but not by people like you and I am sure you are not publcily scrutinised by people like yourself either.

hopefully fft gets an overhaul and some people come in that have ran some succesful leagues somewhere. Someone needs to be recruited within fft to get some serious sponsorship deals going to get a state league up and running and some decent exhibition games down here against some tassie youth and mens/womens teams

eightball said...

we had a twit in charge of table tennis in nsw a couple of years ago- maybe someone with experience in synchronised swimming, or who has ever helped with running a hoola hoop contest should be able to come in and have a crack

From the outside perspective all FFT have to concern themselves with is running leagues and initiating stimiulating competitions .

It is not until you gain access to the inside that you discover there are a proliferation of peripheral matters that need atttention , invariably yeasterday.

Remember that our local administartors have to organise and cater for the whole soccer scene .

Perhaps if FFT shunted off a segment of its portfolio ssy Leagues 2 to 5 to another body it would prove an interesting experiment as those administrators got to grips with Ground Bookings , Rosters , Referee appointment and last but not least Club administrators who want it their way without consideration for others.

Would the fees stay the same with non salaried volunteer administrators?

Good luck to both Ken and Tom in their new endeavours . My thanks for your assistance when required .

A Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to you all

well after much perusal of the years comments i see lots of critics lots of knockers lots of total idiots in love with their own keyboards but alas i see know one stepping into the fray to help in a constructive way with fft or other tas football issues so it is confirmed amended realigned and assured that it will be same ol same ol crap for years to come on the discussion of these subjects.
Nobody likes to credit people with skill knowledge or effort -- oh no - that would be woosy or un- tasmanian .
ok guys heres the big chance 2010 is your chance - see if your puny brains can think of whats next apart from whos shout it is at the pub .....
merry christmas too all and an exiteing new year

Brian Roberts said...

Extending my earlier comments perhaps an alternative would be for the Premier League to take over management of its own affairs .

They would arrange the ground bookings , roster , referees fees and appointments . They would also negotiate any sponsorship deals .

Thye relatinship would be similar to that of the F A and Football League in the U K.

ask not what fft can do for you but what can i do for fft.how many new people have i brougt to my club/how often do i plug football to my mates and encourage them to come and play.how involved are we and our clubs with kids of primaryschoolage to encourage them into clubs and see them play for the next 25 years of their life.instead because of our own inaptitude by the time kids reach highschool more then half give football away.the sport will always be regarded as a joke, when we whine about the standard of the game and at the same time lock the large majority of teams away in 3 mickey mouse divisions.we decided to make premier league,div1 and 2 consist of 8 teams, why not model the rest of the leagues on the same model.top 8 teams div 3 the next 8 div 4 the next div 5 etc and then most importantly have proper promotion and relegation in place all the way up to premier league if you are good enough.there are many ex premierleagueplayers in the so called social leagues that can and will provide stiff competition to div2 sides and some div1 sides.if we had the courage to actually change things you will find the standard improving in every league because there is something to play for and archieve.only stiff competition will lift standards.with proper relegation and promotion there is no longer any need to tinker with the leagues every year because only if a team is good enough will it get into a higher league.by the way youth developement sounds pretty hollow when it only caters for a few privileged ones and you let hundreds of kids get away from the sport every year.

brian roberts i like your way of thinking.always a pleasure to see your posts.happy new year

I suggest a 3 team league with two relegation spots. a finals competition which is way too complicated to explain. This would be supported by a 39 team second division were each team plays each other 3 times as well as a weekly game with a tis team. great eh?
