Brighton Storm remain 9th and New
Norfolk 10th in the Southern Championship 5 standings after this 1-1
draw at KGV Park tonight in a catch-up game.
Brighton Storm had the better chances and
should probably have won, but New Norfolk defended bravely and had some luck and
so can be pleased with salvaging a point.
New Norfolk were on the back foot for much of
the first half and two of their players were shown yellow cards as the side
tried everything to thwart their opponents.
Four minutes before the interval, Brighton
Storm took the lead when Tait Gill attached down the left and hammered home an
unstoppable shot from just inside the box.

New Norfolk refused to surrender and came back
strongly in the second half.
Brodie Bruce found an equaliser midway through
second half after a quick counter-attack.
Brighton Storm went looking for a winner, but
New Norfolk keeper Alan Kalbfell kept them at bay.
He produced a fine save to deny Bayley
Campbell, diving low to his left to turn the shot wide of the post.
And, Gill was unlucky not to grab a second
goal when his superb volley from just inside the box clipped the top of the
crossbar.
Brighton Storm keeper Josh Smith also produced
a sound display to ensure his side of a share of the points.
