Nelson Eastern Suburbs women’s team played a friendly last Sunday at Edgeworth Street in Warrane.

It was against the New Norfolk Panthers.

It’s heartening to see football making progress in the Derwent Valley.

Nelson won 5-1.

Miranda Reeves and Imogen Sinclair each netted a brace, while Amy Clark scored the remaining goal for Nelson.

Jess Stromberg scored for the New Norfolk Panthers.

The Panthers 'borrowed' two young players for the game.

They also had only 10 players for 20 minutes of the first half.

It was good preparation for both teams for the coming league season.

Edgeworth is not a bad little ground for football.

NPL clubs Clarence Zebras and Launceston City recently played a pre-season friendly at this venue.
