Ben Smith I hope you still view this site. Can you please inform us of how many penalties Devonport have had at home in the last 5 years and how often Nathan Coad has given them?

Don’t people ever get tired of blaming refs for Dev winning. Look at replays and be unbiased when you do. Penalties given were warranted on the day . If other teams learnt way to beat them is playing the ball not trying to take the player out they might fare better. Hard tackles are part of the game but don’t whinge and blame refs if that hard tackle is taken too far. Sure refs make mistakes but that happens in every game including Devs games.

Morning Ben, can you let us also know how many people have winged about penalties on this site? Can you also correlate this against IQs? My haunch is there is a strong correlation between this!

Can confirm Devonport Strikers have dominated NPL Tasmania since 2016. Winning 6 Championship's, 5 Lakoseljac Cup's and 2 Summer Cup's. Other teams just need to step up and stop waiting for Devonport to fall.

Salty Port people can't handle FACTS Coad looks after you

What happened to South East? 2-0 up at HT with that team…

Anonymous said...

Spot on but the point is the refs don't give those for other teams but strikers get them that's why people get the grumps

The penalties certainly made the score look better against a team of young guys who I thought did ok especially defensively yesterday but Zebras were never going to travel up there and win against them let’s face it

Best response you could have given Ben Smith.

Maybe coaching iissue.

Absolutely incorrect. Kopra has looked after us as well. Get your facts straight!

Anonymous said...

Clarence also had a penalty given so please explain your misconceived logic now?

Anonymous said...

You’re losing credibility saying that Ben. Just publish the facts son.

Mate don't think Clarence would cause them to many problems, they are at best a champs team now.
Still can't get over they have less teams than before the merger, would never send my kid there

I hope everyone can move on from this. Hanging onto penalties is bad for the mind, body and soul. It’s pretty simple, don’t foul people in the box.

First comment is spot on. The amount of penalties at crucial game stages given to Devonport by Coad is ridiculous over past few seasons. And Coad seems to allocate himself to so many Devonport games yet he is far from one of the better referees.

I do enjoy people on here acting like Ben needs to give them information like he owes them or something, then getting annoyed when they don't receive the answer they wanted

JuSt PosT tHe FacTs ThAt PrOve mY Point!!

If you want facts. Maybe have a look at how much time Devonport spend in possession, and then have a look at how much if this is in the front third. They are clearly going to have more penalties because they threaten goal way more than any other team. The second pen to Dev is blatant. How on earth is that bias from the ref? Also, did Clarence get given a penalty that they missed? How about Clarence focus on not conceding goals from tight angles that should have been dealt with, rather people complain about PeNaLtY BiASs!!!

As ben said. Teams need to step up and take Dev on. Stop complaining. Hopefully Knights and South can do it this year.
