Today’s [Saturday] practice match between Metro and Glenorchy Knights, which had been scheduled as part of a double-header at Prince of Wales Bay, has been cancelled.

Metro will instead now play South Hobart on 22 January and Olympia Warriors on 29 January in practice matches.

Metro have also signed former Glenorchy Knights player Nathan Daniels.

Glenorchy Knights will play Taroona at Prince of Wales Bay at 6.30pm next Wednesday in preparation for the visit next weekend of Melbourne Knights.

Next Saturday, Glenorchy Knights under-19s will play the Tasmanian Institute of Sport at Prince of Wales Bay at 2pm, while the Glenorchy Knights seniors will meet Melbourne Knights at KGV Park that day at 6pm.

Glenorchy Knights and Melbourne Knights will also play each other next Sunday at KGV Park at 4pm.

The squad game between South Hobart and South Melbourne which was cancelled on Thursday evening will not be played today.

South Melbourne are resting and will not train prior to their match against South Hobart tomorrow at 4pm at South Hobart.

Both sides should be close to full strength.

Walter....Sister Clubs, Launceston City and Tilford Zebras are also playing practise Matches at Sandown Park on Sunday 23rd Jan for a combined Reserves / U19's at 10.30 am and Seniors at 12.30 pm

walter........do you have any match reports from the hobart olympic vs glenorchy knights final 5 series final. glenorchy knights won 4-3 but it was one of the best games i have seen. there was alot of quality on the pitch. i think the year of that game was 1999. olympic had the great ivan zilic and nebojsa.

I guess now if Australia lose to Bahrain, we are out, and finally we can start playing some youngsters rather than our heros from Germany 06 with zimmerframes!
