And here come Zebras sliding down the ladder.
As per usual they put in an odd decent performance against a top team
but continually drop points against teams around them on ladder or below.
That has been the case for years and nothing has changed.

Go zebras

Devonport v Glenorchy. Knights must be very disappointed with that effort, I didn’t think Devonport were at their best but still far better than Glenorchy. Not sure I’ve seen them so bad in midfield and defence before, unable to maintain possession because they couldn’t pass the ball to their own, very poor in challenges, consistently fouling, couldn’t or wouldn’t challenge in the air, and allowed Devonport ball carriers to go past them very easily. Still Port must be considered a little fortunate to have scored 3 goals, two penalties and an own goal. No issues with the first penalty as clear cut as you get. Sherman must be very frustrated with the squad he has, there are more than a few who appear to have never been coached in some of the basics and he shouldn’t have to teach adults how to do those basics at this level. So the season is basically over, Port to march on to yet another title, Yawn, and not another team in near sight to challenge them.

City having 1 proper shot on goal for a whole game… progress is being made with this new set up and removal of players

I heard the new Zebras song is going to be a slowly sung version of the Max Merritt song Slipping Away

Any chance of a Chamionship ladder Walter? I want to see how Olympia is slaying the rest.

As a neutral (but very much hoping that Knights would win) I gotta say as title aspirants they were very disappointing. Port could've won by 6. Sloppy mistakes, gave the ball away constantly, especially in their own third of the park, lotta aimless hoofing it. A few looked off the pace & lacked intensity, the usually excellent Nick Naden comes to mind. Was Nick Mearns not playing? He's usually really solid in midfield. Shame for the comp, really. For a change the Port whinging had some justification, as some dead set penalties didn't get awarded.

Clarence keeper at fault for last goal. He shouldn't be going for a ball he can't get anywhere near. Central defenders should be dealing with that plan and simple.

708. Devonport had 2 penalties. No issue with the first but the second shouldn’t be given. . Look at the way the dev player rolls around in “ agony” at the first one.. Then gets up and runs off when pen scored. Embarrassment to our game

You know they don’t have a npl standard squad anymore right? So why would they be expected to slay the championship?

Who is Knights number 7? Watching on the stream gave me a great chuckle. Walked around puffing his chest out and carrying a brick in each hand yet did not a lot

The ground looked like a paddock Strikers passed the ball less South Hobart less then them two weeks ago

8.17pm. No need to ask who a player is. If your smart enough to log on to this blog, your smart enough to look up a player by number easily on the team sheet. Would seem you already know this player & felt the need to make a childish immature comment Your obviously a player so tell us all who you are so we can look at your style on the pitch. Walters great work on this blog doesn’t require personal digs at players that children like you attempt with your light up gaming keyboard

Zebras are paying a fortune for some great imports and are still defensively the same and are really sad to watch most games as they were when Pullen took over, it’s not working and things need to change, new coach and some real ideas and respect are needed, don’t just keep thinking you can buy a team and that’s going to make you look good

Olympia are mid-table in the championship. Current players not up to standard.

Re July 16 6.24pm
Olympia living rent free in your head? Bringing up a club that had nothing to do with this thread.
Jog on champ.

Light up keyboards are the rage atm. Just like matey who struts around puffing chest yet does not much.

Anon 10.55
What’s the standard for a player in the championship?

Anonymous said...

Have a look across the champ and champ 1 Eagles squads. Blokes that are happy to be playing in the league and quite successful at it.

Anon July 17 8.28.
No one is comparing Olympia to Eagles. Someone made a comment that Olympia players are currently not up to standard to be a threat and/or be further up the ladder.
That is fact based on where they sit.
That's all.

In the WSL big difference between top 3 ,and the rest.
World Cup year but the game in this state in trouble

Just because they are happy doesn’t mean they are up to the standard. Who said olympias players aren’t happy to be playing in the league?

oh dear said...

Please tell me what "PLAYERS " have been removed. Player leaving because he couldn't get his own way and is the second time he has done that.

Anonymous said...

True, Olympia players are probably happy being mid table. I know Eagles wouldn’t be though.
