I was amazed that nearly all leagues in Tasmania were in recess this weekend.

I managed to get to the four games in southern Tasmania that were played and  to State youth training at KGV Park on Saturday.

Why was this?

Was it because of the Women’s World Cup, or was it a scheduled ‘catch-up’ weekend for games that may have been postponed earlier in the season?

Seems interesting that the state coaches are mostly existing NPL/WSL players or coaches. Might be a good thing for an NPL pathway, but seems like a bit of a change up from a few years ago where they had alot of input by the regional development officers and the technical director Michael Edwards.

Sorry Football Tasmania, this is not how you promote the game in Tasmania. Only the Australia games were covered on channel 7 free to air. What about giving the public /players the option of choosing for themselves whether they stay inside on a fine saturday afternoon & watch games on Optus Sports or not ?. I'd love to know what they were thinking ?. Crazy decision.
I know what I wanted to do & I was unable to do so.
