George Kalis new competitions manager at FFT

George Kalis is the new competitions manager for Football Federation Tasmania.

He succeeds Michael McKenna, who finishes his tenure in the position next week.

Kalis, who has been working in real estate, has considerable experience in sports administration.

“George has previously held a long standing position with AFL Tasmania and in this role, and through his education, has strong experience in competitions, event management, marketing, communication and sponsorship,” said FFT CEO, John Boulous.

“George has a very sound understanding of the football landscape in Tasmania and the issues and challenges facing clubs.

“He has been involved in football club administration and brings to the role a wealth of experience in sports administration.

“Football Federation Tasmania is delighted to be able to appoint George to the position and look forward to maintaining and strengthening our relationships with our member clubs and associations through this role.

“George will commence on Wednesday, 12 January, and will undertake a brief handover with Mike McKenna, who departs FFT on Friday, 14 January.

“At this point, I would again like to thank Mike for his effort and commitment over the past year in this role.”
