Gold Coast United 0-0 Perth Glory

Gold Coast United remained fourth on the A-League ladder after a dour goalless draw at home at Skilled Park against second-last Perth Glory tonight.
Gold Coast badly missed captain and midfielder Jason Culina, who is on Socceroos duty, and defender Michael Thwaite, who was suspended.
The first half was a boring affair and it was not until stoppage time that Gold Coast captain Joel Porter missed a sitter from close range from Adama Traore’s cross from the left.
Seconds later, Robson sent in a dangerous free-kick but Dino Djulbic headed wide.
In the second half, Kristian Rees was also off target with a header from another Robson free-kick.
Glory keeper Tando Velaphi did very well on the hour to save from Caravella, while 4 minutes later, Bruce Djite shot wide from an excellent pass from man-of-the-match Traore.
With 20 minutes remaining, Velaphi again denied Djite, while in the closing minutes, the Perth keeper tipped a chip from substitute Chris Broadfoot over the bar and to safety.
In between, Djulbic’s volley on the turn flew just wide.
Gold Coast thought they had a winner in the dying seconds when Tahj Minniecon cut the ball back from the byline on the right for Djite to hammer into the net, but the effort was disallowed because the referee adjudged the ball to have gone out of play before Minniecon was able to cross it.

Walter, what category is the Time Hobart South? Professional? Semi Professional? What? Thanks. Hernane Caires - Brazil.
Hello Hernane, South Hobart are amateur. They have a professional coach in Ken Morton but the players are amateurs.
Tasmania used to have semi-professional clubs but all are now amateur. Some players in some teams may receive 'expenses'.
It is amazing that 10 000 will turn up in torrential rain for free to watch Gold Coast, but only 2 000+ will pay to watch GCU.
Are people really tight with money on the glitter strip?
What connections are being made with local clubs by the GCU?
How have FFA assisted GCU?
