Tasmania’s men’s Vikings Futsal team has failed to make the grand final at the national championships in Sydney.

Tasmania then lost 5-3 to Victoria, our goals coming from Matt Smith, Scott Fenn and Jacob Huigsloot.

New Town Eagles have re-elected last year’s committee at the recent AGM.

As reported earlier on this blog, Darren Frost is again the president of Eagles.

Bill Shackcloth is the vice-president, while Andrew Leszczynski is the secretary and treasurer.

The other committee members are Chris Leszczynski, James Lyons, Daniel Grabek, Adam Colgrave, Richard Rybak and Steven Drinkwater.

Just to reiterate the club’s coaching positions, George Krambousanos is the senior coach, assisted by Peter Wass and Kevin Clamp.

Martin Nidorfer and Michael Murray are the coaches of the reserves, while Wade Savage and Adam Shackcloth will coach the under-19s.

Shane Revell is the junior development/structure officer and will also work with the under-19s.

“We want to get the same training pans set from under-13s through to under-18s,” said Frost. “That way we hope to make it easier for players to move up and down in the junior leagues during the season and also for their following season.

“If they are all doing the same training plan, then it will make it easier for players that are coming into a team that is not their own.”

Aubert Ruzigandekwe is the new coach of Division One club, Hobart United.

He takes over from Mark Broadbent.

Ruzigandekwe, a French speaker from Rwanda, played professionally in Belgium before coming to Tasmania with his family.

He joined Tilford Zebras and was exceptionally skilful as a midfielder, catching the eye with his speed and ball skills.

I think you can safely call them Lion cubs, they now play for Kingborough I thought, no longer for the TIS.

good luck to Aubert at Hobart united. You would be luckier to find a nicer guy.

agreed anon knights will struggle big time this year and we all know why certain coaches will not apply for the job at knights while corey is at this club ,also certain players feel the same about him .hard to draw players or coaches while he is there.

anon 7.02
will you get over the fact corey may have stole one of your girl friends or nutmegged you on numerous occasions and stick to posting things that make sense and not your usual feeble attempts at rubbishing others. man it just gets to be boring listenin to you prattle on so much about nothing.
if a coach wanted the job at knights they would apply simple as that and any player causing disruption would be delt with accordingly so stop being a dimwit

Aubert is an amazing guy and will be an amazing coach for Hobart United this season.
can speak six languages so communication should not be an issue.
He will enjoy helping these younger guys to get the most out of there ability as his player career has unfortunately been restricted due to his knee. Hopefully everybody gets around him and listens to his wisdom and knowledge. I know I'm disappointed I'm not able to have a coffee with Orbet and Mr Previdi every morning as I used too.

Should be a great 50th year for the Eagles with around 30 players turning up to seniors and reserves training. A few new players from other clubs too which show the club is still an attraction. Practice match is getting organized for 22nd or 29th of January VS Olympia at their new ground which will show everybody if Eagle are forming a serious club

doesn't corey do all the recruiting?

Congratulations to Aubert, one of the most humble and best blokes you will meet. He will bring nothing but positivity and drive to the club and his love for the sport will show. Once again Congratulations and a massive pick up for Hobart United.
