South Hobart will have former player Guilherme de Souza back for their NPL Tasmania game against Kingborough Lions United at South Hobart Oval tomorrow [Sunday] at 2pm.

The 26-year-old Brazilian-born midfielder or defender played 13 games for South Hobart last season but has been on the Gold Coast and was in quarantine for two weeks after arriving back in Tasmania.

Coach Ken Morton, who may not take his place on the bench because of continuing illness, said de Souza may play for 30 minutes or so.

De Souza was a key midfielder for South Hobart, whom he joined from Kingborough Lions United, where he played just 7 games in 2018.

Morton also said that young goalkeeper Nathan Reid, signed this season from Clarence Zebras, will start against the Lions and replace veteran Mark Moncur.

Youngster Joshua Divin may also get a run for South Hobart.

Morton said former A-League player Andy Brennan will not play after suffering an injury last weekend in the 1-0 loss to Devonport City.

Kingborough Lions United coach Jes Kenth said his side will be without star midfielder Shane Cartwright, who was injured last weekend in the 2-0 win over Launceston City.

Kenth said James Hall was also doubtful because of injury.

Kenth said he was expecting to see Andy Brennan turn out for South Hobart and did not believe the newcomer would not play.

He also claimed inside knowledge that Declan Foley will resume for South Hobart.

He insisted that the Lions would go into this game as the underdogs, despite Kingborough being ahead of South Hobart in the standings.

A win for Kingborough, who are third after today’s [Saturday] results, will see them regain second place.

Big call to not play Mark in goals. He has been outstanding and was probably man of the match for South against Zebras. As for dropping all the youth 1130pm - Hallam will be back for South, playing with Divin, Larby, Laka,Herwaynan, R Morton, Sam B. All guys still in their teens.
