Awful result for Zebras against a terrible Riverside team. Think Dport will run away with the league this year
Terrible result for the Knights, unbelievable that an NPL team could squander so many chances in front of goal and then throw the game away in the last minutes. Well done to L.C. down to ten men, never say die, played the ball from the back from yet another dawdling Knights attempt at going forward, beat three very weak attempted tackles in the mid field and two V four sliced through the Knights defence like a training drill and slotted a ball into the net passed a keeper who had been anchored to his line and moved out very late. The Knights showed a lack of desire, seemed to have the attitude that the goals will come as long as we have the ball. But they don't do they, there never seems to be any urgency in their play, just keep possession and move along slowly, when they do penetrate into the box it is very likely to be a weak shot easily handled by the keeper, a ball that bounces of some ones head rather than a headed ball with intent on goal or the ball passes across the goal face with no attempt at toeing it in the net, unless of course the attacker stumbles over a blade of grass and pushes the ball wide. Very hard to watch a side going nowhere quickly.

In reply to ‘Terrible result for Knights’. You had me interested! I sat down & watched the replay. This is the first loss for them I think, and so it happens. As to your squandering goal comment, It seems in the first half the attacking was dreadful I must agree with you, 2 forward players with absolutely no speed or aggression and not much ball contact , I was surprised they were left on the pitch for as long as they were. The second half was entirely different. Subs brought on and the pace of the game changed, there in fact was a sense of urgency in the play and there were some very good shots at goal in fact and it was pure bad luck on the day given the fact that Launcestons goal keeper is so damn good. There young fellow who scored did a marvellous job, but your criticism of the Knights team as a whole seems extremely harsh after 1 loss. Ok, they didn’t win but I suggest you watch the replay and I think you might agree the Knights play in the second half was as if it were a different team than the first.
Congratulations to Launceston as they really wanted to win and it was a superb goal . Also well done to Riverside as they proved there’s some spirit left in the side no matter what people say about them and probably unlucky not to win . Enough has been said about Clarence over the last few weeks and they just proved everybody was right ,not prepared to change means not prepared to win .
Thanks for the sensible reply. Of course it is just my view but I had watched the full match. I have since watched some replays and I still think I'm basically correct. I don't think its in Sherman's nature but I think he needs to give a few players a bollocking old fashion style. We shall see in the next few weeks.
I just watched the goal highlights of all the games and I thought the Launceston goal was just a fantastic effort by the young boys to link up and put it away .Not taking anything away from the Riverside goal one bit but gee whiz have a look at the complete lack of interest in attacking the ball in defence before the goal , mind boggling
