Thanks for the update Walter
Some great signs from the Zebras in yesterday’s game but once again the somewhat shoddy defence at the back has let them down again and until this is fixed the good strikers in the comp are going to punish them time and time again . Surely the coaching staff can see the players who are giving 100% and those that are giving up the chase ? So frustrating!
One or two players at the back think they are the coach or know better
Sorry to say but both Zebras coaches need to change their thinking with their setup. The players do not understand how to play 4-3-3. The defence play too square and there is no leader. Fix your defence and midfield and you may just salvage your jobs otherwise the writing is on the walls for these two.
Weather it’s your captain or any player, someone needs to stand up and lead these players when the going gets tough.
All players need to step up as too many don’t know how to position their body’s when defending or transitioning and give up easily with turnovers. When transitioning forward your front 3 are too far spread apart and your midfield are too far behind. It’s pointless sending long balls forward to your striker with this setup.
Time to stand up Zebra players and coaches, it’s early days so show us all some spirit and heart and make the club proud. Your coaches are trying to play how the system wants you too but wake up and smell the roses, this is Tasmania and we don’t work full time on football here.
You sound like one of the centre backs
Totally agree with all these comments on Clarence as there seems to be no urgency in the play but like Angelo stated there are good signs there , well worth taking a look at the brilliant effort of the little Clarence number 18 to block the shot on goal in the 67th minute ! If they had another couple of players with this urgency they would be a very hard side to beat this year . All is not lost though
