Please FFT get some commentators that have played the game .

The Dude’s at Lightwood Park tonight were average at best and their lack of game knowledge was obvious .

Anonymous said...

Home the official at the Launceston and Glenorchy game is going to be OK?

Anonymous said...

LOL Hobart City

Anonymous said...

What happened to him

Anonymous said...

Whoever it was from FFT who thought it was a good idea to put Launceston United in the NPL should hang their head in shame and resign.

Anonymous said...

Oh dear Lonny United. They are even worse than last year.

Anonymous said...

Absolute embarrassment to the game.

Anonymous said...

I hope the person responsible for the Lonny United entry into NPL. has resigned in shame

Anonymous said...

It’s beyond a joke. It was unbearable when the picture was down and we only had commentary. Ciome in FT. It’s beyond embarrassing

Anonymous said...

Passed out running the line he looked pretty old hope it wasn't serious

Anonymous said...

What people have to remember is that these commentators are being paid, hence they are professional and should be open to valid criticism. It would be different if they were doing it for nothing.

Anonymous said...

He has resigned.

36 games. 0 wins, 2 draws, 34 defeats with a GD of -144. Time to go back to Northern Championship Launceston United

Anonymous said...

Adam McKeown still bagging plenty of goals, what a player, what a man.

Anonymous said...

Kingborough having a 30 year old playing left back in their u21s should not be allowed, some of the kids he is versing are half his age.

Nick L-A said...

A lot of people come on here and slag off united. But you can only blame FT. Last season they waited 2 months post season to drop oylmpia and promote United. Making it near impossible for united to recruit a new coach or any of the top players around the north. The fact that it wasn't decided within the first week or two of the season finishing is just a joke.

Too put into context imagine a luton a championship team in England finishing their season and waiting 2 months to find out if they're going into the premier league, makes a very tough job of stepping into a higher league, even harder.
Doomed them from the start.

Same as Barnard at Dev and countless other players at other clubs. It's the reserve competition for the NPL league and overage players are allowed, move along.

Anonymous said...

Didn't realise getting 50 bucks every couple of weeks made you professional at something, might have to start putting professional footballer and coach on my linked in then. Might even try that one down at the bars.

Anonymous said...

Technically that makes you a professional so you’re open to valid criticism.

Anonymous said...

We know where Nick is playing next season

Anonymous said...

Pretty sure Ichimura got a brace and has to be one of the best imports in recent years, brilliant skill and pace

Ray Carroll said...

Not sure why Eli Wright did not start for 'Lions'. He's been one of their best players over recent weeks. Playing the young fellas will only reap dividends in the future !. Plus he looks fit, unlike a couple of the regulars - no names mentioned.

Anonymous said...

Now it needs to be sorted them. Send them back to NC and bring in promotion relegation

Anonymous said...

Agree Nick for United first year. But they have had a full season since then to be ready after that. I don’t think anyone is blaming United. It’s FT fault they were allowed in. They need to go back to NC. They are simply not good enough. United did not even win NC when they were allowed in to take Olympias spot.

What is going on in the WSL.
Devonport is the only team that don't force the ball. They play through the lines hitting feet
where Lions and South were trying to force the ball forward with no effect. It's a sad situation for Taroona once a powerhouse in women's football is now at best a social team.
I don't know if this league can survive in the future.

Anonymous said...

Happens at every club, young players don’t get game time no matter how well they play. Older more experienced players will always play over them, sad really.

Anonymous said...

I think you need to be realistic about your expectations for women’s football

Anonymous said...

Anon 5.02 pm. Realistic is realising that the WSL has much more focus on it without it improving at all over many years. Too many players lost to other sports and the committment by the players is not generally there. One or two clubs excluded. Does the league warrant or deserve the continued focus and effort?

Anonymous said...

Where would they finish? Top four?

Anonymous said...

Clearly it doesn’t but then you open yourself up to the criticism of we are not supporting women’s football

Anonymous said...

He wouldn’t go there

Anonymous said...

They wouldn’t beat rangers

Anonymous said...

I don’t know I could see it. Nick La scores a 30 yard screamer for united as that go down 8-1 to seventh placed riverside

Anonymous said...

Player coach next year

Anonymous said...

Honestly for the money they have spent they could stick barnard up front and he would score 20

Anonymous said...

Nick LA to be fined by football tas

Anonymous said...

Krusa throwing elbows is just as bad as the City bench giving him a send off. City forget he held the club together before the brought in the Devonport package to the club

Anonymous said...

Errmm… you make no sense and very contradictory.

Anonymous said...

Anon 7.42. If the criticism is warranted then it is not unfair.Womens football has had way too much focus without the improvement that the level of focus warrants. Facts are facts. It’s about time people realise this and accept it for what it is.

Anonymous said...

The one at the 53rd minute looked to be his. Were there too many to count??

Anonymous said...

Anon July 28, 2024 at 9:16 PM - any player using a forceful strike with a bent elbow deserves all he gets from the benches regardless of how good his past efforts for any club have been.

Unfortunately, with Launceston United's inclusion and like all other applicants for an NPL licence, results, ladder positions and junior development is not required.

It is all about meeting a set of criteria which is about infrastructure, finances and if you have a doctor and physiotherapist at every home game.

The issue I have with Nick's comment is that I am sure that LU knew that they were submitting and applying for an NPL licence, so why not prepare for it by doing what needs to be done before being advised that you are going to be included.

If I am going to start a truck driving business, I probably want to be proactive and have a truck to begin with or at least some plan on how to get myself a truck if I know that I will be sitting my heavy vehicle licence exam........

I thought K'boro were very disappointing again on the weekend.

When the big boys have visited the Den in the last month - the Lions have looked more like pups.

Over rated

I totally agree with you Walter. Reverse the mens' & Womens' games on Saturday & see who stays to watch the second game on a freezing Saturday night. I personally don't enjoy the womens' game. I'll say no more as I know my views annoy a few locals.
I like to watch games on a Saturday afternoo !. As they used to be.

Interesting comment, because lions are actually a big cat, so comparing them to an unrelated species such as the dog is knowledge of an uneducated, illiterate hobo. The correct statement would be calling them kittens. Thankyou for your careful, detailed observation of the game.

Are WSL players paid to play?
