This was predictable. No structure. CZ coach dropped his bundle weeks ago. Just ask the players

Anonymous said...

Come on United!!! Get in!

Anonymous said...

United a force to be reckoned with in 2025

Anonymous said...

Absolute farce, Clarence Zebras.
Ruined a club with rich heritage for a shambles on the eastern shore. Disgrace!

Anonymous said...

And I didn’t see a single swallow today.

Anonymous said...

Clarence going nowhere as a club at the moment, no achievements in senior football yet and all men’s teams towards the bottom of the ladder.

Anonymous said...

Zebras have sunk to an even lower low. Losing to United. Such a once proud club have become a shambles.

Anonymous said...

More like 2035

Anonymous said...

What a shambolic performance from Clarence, they probably have not received enough flak in recent times because of the situation with Launceston United and Riverside. A dreadful merger that FFT encouraged has completely eroded any sense of culture or values. A dire situation and in truth a result and performance like this was probably never far away.

Anonymous said...

Agree with the CZ comments but don’t forget Riverside are only 1 win ahead of them lol

Anonymous said...

True comment. Riverside are also a shambles. No structure wither. Only thing they are winning is red cards

Seeing a lot of negative comments from annyomous keyboard warriors 👀 how about some positivity and praise for a team that has stuck with it for two long seasons. We should be proud of the boys and the club regardless where you come from.

Also forgot the WSL United 5 Taroona 0 score ☺️

Anonymous said...

Unfortunately the Clarence part of the merger has won out zebras no longer exist lots of reasons why this has happened but you can not look past the stubbornness of the committee and the lack of ability to change and accept change to many old boys saying back in my day !!
Really sad times

Anonymous said...

Spot on!!! You’d have people turning in their grave at this merger. Hobart Juventus is no longer, disgraceful.

Anonymous said...

Out of curiosity, is it the club/cpmmittee or coach who makes the decisions about the team? Always lots of blame placed on committee, but I'm wondering how/why? Interested to know.

Anonymous said...

So why did they merge?

Anonymous said...

All this passion where were you all when the club needed you?

Anonymous said...

Ummm what should we be proud of? I’m sure they try hard but should that see them in the npl? If so let’s admit north Launceston eagles and st Leonard rovers next year

Anonymous said...

People sit back and criticise the people having a go, if you can do it better then get involved and make things happen.

Anonymous said...

It’s got nothing to do with people having a go, it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Anonymous said...

As previously stated what great legacy left by those in charge. Shameful.

Anonymous said...

Who cares that it happened. Zebras sold out for a canteen. It is no one else's business but theirs. They have to live with the fact that a huge club one with so much history was dissolved into a set up that literally took it down levels.
There was a technical director at the club at the time that was influential in this happening coupled with the board. They should be ashamed.

Anonymous said...

No, just no.

Anonymous said...

Tasmanian football is sadly full of people with personal grudges against clubs and individuals. If you don't like what has happened/happening then get involved and try to improve our clubs and football in Tasmania.

Anonymous said...

Anon 8.29 pm. You can’t help people who are beyond help. They do not know anything else and will not involve those may be able to assist because they want the control.Pathetic and will remain pathetic . May be too late to fix things now. Maybe the original CU people may have some ideas!

Ray Carroll said...

Years ago, when I was involved with the junior game, the Eastern shore produced so many talented young players. It seems the production line has dried up or they are just going to other clubs. Maybe if Clarence had stayed as it was & had developed it's own young players , things might be different.
Look at Souths.

Anonymous said...

The majority of south NPL players came from other clubs

Anonymous said...

She wasn’t saying anything about them being in the NPL. Just trying to spread some positivity, which obviously you both lack.

Anonymous said...

Their Under 21’s won the statewide cup 2024 actually!

Anonymous said...

NPL Tasmania is Socials league 2 for the rest of Australia, What a joke!!!!

Anonymous said...

Anyone heard from the Lions supporters? Gone missing since City smacked them

Ronnie Bolton said...

Okay real football people , an honest report for you all to read. Let's look at the merger and why 2 clubs did that. All about facilities and finance . Any merger in any sport takes time. We are on a journey that doesn't happen overnight. The juniors and the youth are on track , which is every clubs future. Sit on the fence and criticise. There's no Football Club that is on top every season, especially when there's multiple teams in your town.An important part of running a club is the support of your local facilities and the cost you must pay. When you're competing with Aussie Rules and Cricket , which are both well looked after in our area , it's extremely challenging. All the people involved with CZFC are totally committed in getting the club heading in right direction. It certainly doesn't happen overnight.

Anonymous said...

It’s been 5 years and the quality of the senior teams is declining.

Anonymous said...

It’s been over 20 years for Hobart Zebras and declining .

Anonymous said...

The Under 21’s are looking bright but you don’t give them any opportunities which wouldn’t be a bad idea considering they might actually play for the badge instead of the cash. Nick Wright, Jack Maundrill, Malachi Smith. Your club’s future is very bright.

Anonymous said...

Was quite impressed with the atmosphere at The Den on Saturday evening!

Best in the league by far!

Anonymous said...

Ronnie all clubs are fighting against AFL and Cricket however some seem to do very well compared to others who have little idea. Please stop making excuses for where CZ are. Between CU and Hobart Zebras both clubs have been in the doldrums for many years. That says alot without having to say anything.

Anonymous said...

Those youth players are OK. The youth are not the problem at Clarence

Anonymous said...

Well said Ronnie Bolton. Also well written was a Blog Rhodesy wrote about CZ. All the keyboard warriors love to bag CZ, United & Riverside and they waffle on over & over stating they shouldn’t be in the NPL & yet watch them celebrate when they have a win against any of the bottom teams. You would think they won the lotto. Quite amusing really. Teams will shine, they will rise & fall over the years but gets on my goat how a large number of the players are mates off the pitch no matter which club they are from. Makes me wonder where all the negativity comes from. I doubt it’s the players in the comp. I would say the negative comments come from disgruntled players who simply aren’t good enough for NPL so they sit on their jealousy couch with their keyboard & continuously bag out clubs on the bottom of the ladder. Grow up people.

Anonymous said...

Come on Ronnie the club has been merged for a while now that doesn’t wash
How many coaches have you had ? What is the clubs vision and plan surely these things come from the top ?

Anonymous said...

Heard it called equal to English pub league

Anonymous said...

Some even have to fight dog walkers

Anonymous said...

Anon 9.16 am. Finally someone else with a little bit of noise.
Excuses excuses. It’s is no one else’s fault other than the CZ board. They control what does and doesn’t happen.
CU were lucky Zebras jumped on board to save the Clarence name. Only problem is that the Zebra name has been tainted now.

Anonymous said...

Yes must be 4 years at least,so in that time what have they done ,less players than before, lost their women's teams ,how many coaches have they had.
When you talk to some committee members they will say such and such used to play for us ,but now they play for the knights or South ,they don't understand their club has no soul or history

Anonymous said...

Should read “ with a little bit of nouse”

Anonymous said...

CZ should be thriving with the mergers. Men are dedicated, yet struggling.
Women no longer have a WSL team. Supporters have a right to complain whether from Clarence or Zebras.

Anonymous said...

so refreshing to see the football family so encouraging and supportive as always. Instead of spewing criticism and doom and gloom, which isnt helpful, make a valuable contribution. As if volunteers need another reason not to bother! If you arent part of the solution you are part of the problem.

Anonymous said...

Isn’t that the point of sport - competition.

Anonymous said...

I’m sure there are many comments on Walter’s blog on tribalism in football, it’s in our blood. The strongest survive and then another tribe comes and knocks them off - ala Devonport. To steal a phrase “Carn Souf”

Anonymous said...

Time to lose the Zebras name and bring back Juventus -
Clarence Juventus - sounds like a title contender already

Anonymous said...

Ray, it was Clarence that approached Zebras seeking a merger, from what I am told , unless that was a lie. They were disappearing into the wilderness and needed to be saved. This is the result of that decision. Who do you think is the winner?

Anonymous said...

Who has won what in the last 5 years?
Devonport and Knights. South won the finals cup last year too

Anonymous said...

Agreed. Love the horns. Reminds me of being in South Africa. Real quality atmosphere on a budget
