Riverside. What a joke. Spent all that money on the United players. Can’t even beat Lonny United

Anonymous said...

Terrible coaching from the Devonport bench.
Thought they had the game won and made a lot changes, taking off some of their most important players. Took off No.11 who was clearly their best player.

Ouch Zerbas

Anonymous said...

Kingborough absolutely class second half performance. I think they had about 85% possession and limited devonport to one shot in the second half. What a come back!

Anonymous said...

Rowan Pitt was excellent against South Hobart. What an important brace that was today well done young fella

Anonymous said...

Port. Shambles. Gone. No depth

Anonymous said...

Just read last weeks comments, prophetic from the Kingborough supporter predicting their third win against Port this week, well done.

Anonymous said...

Lucky Riverside paid them not to play for United before the break against themselves and Clarence or Riverside be still on 7 points and second last!

Anonymous said...

I think LU recruits far better than the 3 they sent Riverside anyway!! They were lazy at United and looked much the same at River today

Anonymous said...

Pack it in. Worst club in NPL in last 10 years. Absolute embarrassment.
GM don’t waste your money.

Anonymous said...

Wow. Npl riverside and launceston.

Ray Carroll said...

Totally agree. He had a very good second half. The more games he gets the better he will get. I'm glad I didn't leave at half time !. Port should have been out of sight by then.

Anonymous said...

Agree 8:32, Toure has scored more goals in 4 games than Eshun had in his entire stint at LU

Anonymous said...

Looking at Ports players coming through locally, it’s going to be quiet years coming up. The golden period is now gone for a long time.

Anonymous said...

I wasn’t a Boro fan but thanks Jon has Ballentynes number

Anonymous said...

No depth signed 12 players any more depth they’d be signing two teams

Anonymous said...

If you look back over many years, Port have always relied on getting players from outside the club in order to achieve success. This strategy goes back decades. They have managed to produce a decent player occasionally from their juniors but in recent years these juniors haven’t had the opportunities to prove themselves due to the number of imports being used in the NPL team in order to achieve their recent league & cup triumphs. The circle of life continues to turn.

Anonymous said...

I hope he does

Anonymous said...

Yes but the mens team haven't understood the coaches principles and that's their fault remember.

Anonymous said...

That’s the end of Tom B. Their era is over. Conceding 3 goals in 10 mins shows how that defence is broken. It used to be impenetrable. The GK issue remains too

Anonymous said...

Imagine signing a heap of players and then saying they don’t understand my principles basically saying the teams no good, forgets the WSL team are just technically better than all the other teams nothing to do with coaching.

Anonymous said...

Surely Riverside need to start asking some questions of their coach by now?

Anonymous said...

At least Eshun stuck around at the final whistle to shake hands and show some respect to his former teammates unlike Owusu.

Anonymous said...

Ageee. Port Defence is weak these days. Some players are past it and put more energy into constantly complaining about referees decisions.

Anonymous said...

Have Zebras ever conceded 12 goals before? Absolutely embarrassing

Anonymous said...

People commenting on how many players Ballantyne has bought to Devonport ought to have a look at how many Santos Dos Silva (the super coach) has bought to Riverside’ during his auspicious reign.

Anonymous said...

Devenport has an ego problem, their current players live off of the success of previous teams, they need to focus on building their own success.

Anonymous said...

Really? How many players in their team have had this success?

Anonymous said...

When people are accusing other teams of wasting money its incredible how Riverside never gets a mention. Buy half a new team twice a year, house them all somewhere and pay a full time coach all to be barely better than United

Anonymous said...

No more than Taroona in the WSL haven’t won games for years, FFT say nothing must have some friends at headquarters.

Anonymous said...

Mmmm what can be said about the zebra effort and line up Featherstone back in ?? Youve got a promising young keeper from eagles give him the rest of the season he’s the best out their and has potential
Back line a champ team at best how can Simaan and Richardson compete with the two up top for city men vs boys hey and import should be at cb as no legs in mid and got totally run over Tooze, Hatcher and Ackerley simply can’t compete Burt fine up top but get nothing out of him anywhere else
Imports arnt up to it and they can’t inspire the good young ones to try and play npl, time for a few years back in champ to sort out a very confused club

Anonymous said...

Coaching masterclass yesterday taking Paine and Innis off when he did completely changed the game.

Anonymous said...

What does jon has tom’s number mean

Anonymous said...

The complaints are getting worse, in line with their performances.

Anonymous said...

Devonport also luring other players up the bass highway from Lonny from other Clubs- only to have them sit on the bench and watch import players. Great culture.

Anonymous said...

It’s because their crap. No threat to the other clubs so they don’t cop any flak

Anonymous said...

Well, he’s going at seasons end is the world so the questions have been asked and answered?

Anonymous said...

Throwing a heap of cash at syson

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 12:31 it means that Jon has Tom’s mobile number saved to his phone. Hope this helps x

Anonymous said...

Possibly the most ridiculous comment I’ve seen on here ever. Featherstone is 10x the keeper of anyone else they’ve got. And he’s still only 20 himself

Anonymous said...

Without featherstone yesterday it would have been 17/18 did you see his saves ?’!

Anonymous said...

I doubt Syson would leave a side he’s built and who are competing to leave for a side who are a shambles other sides have thrown cash it him last season apparently.

Anonymous said...

I've got someone's number" is an idiom that means to understand a person's true character, motives, or intentions so well that you know how they will act and cannot be fooled. This phrase implies having an advantage over someone because you know them thoroughly.

Kirky said...

Anon 11.33 am , you have a few in your assessment of Clarence right but a few of them totally wrong because if they never had to pick up the slack of some players and had more enthusiasm around them it would be a totally different result . As for the goalkeeper he is much better than you think especially since coming off a long term injury

Anonymous said...

I’m struggling to see how so many teams in NPL are struggling with all the super coaches and super star players having their say in here….. hahahaha think you can step up and create winning culture and players worthy of playing NPL, get off the keyboards and get involved at your local NPL club!!! It’s a tough gig and always winners and losers!! It’s more about the depth of quality players and more so Coaching staff!! Club cultures are still amateur at best with some clubs while trying to be involved in a semi pro league!!! Add to that clubs that just go poaching players rather than developing talent…. Riverside prime example. Bought two teams this year and even paid LUnited imports not to play against them and not in the game against Clarence when even still contracted to United. Disgraceful to say the least!! Time FT did a full audit across all teams and get it to a level playing field!! It may then just sharpen the league up!!

Anonymous said...

The only thing more inept than the Zebras was the cameraman shooting that game. Any danger of learning how to use the zoom function? Seems to be a frequent problem with games this year too.

Anonymous said...

Who in there squad is from Lonnie?

Anonymous said...

Syson will be next Port coach. You read it here first

Anonymous said...

So you call out all the comments on here then go on to criticise riverside

Anonymous said...

Pitchy to take the reins

Anonymous said...

Football Tasmania should be included in that statement bad decision’s seem to be just the normal from them .

Anonymous said...

riverside are so bad , united winning next year mark my words. you heard it here first, wow toure looks like he is going places. lonny united are in the rebuild and its working

Anonymous said...

Knights to beat Dev this week coming,

2-1 Knights,
Red card for Reynolds (prediction)

Anonymous said...

Do rangers have any interest in returning to the state league? Got to be better than both united and river

Anonymous said...

Only one united team is winning and that’s kingborough

Anonymous said...

Imagine if FFT decide to expand the depleted comp as its is. Madness if they do.

Anonymous said...

The former Clarence players that need to be playing for them right now are all playing socials for one reason or another. Look at barnstoneworths div1/2’s team if they were training and playing the Zebs would be a lot more competitive.
The real question is why are all these players playing socials? Look at knights Div 1 team as well. To many NPL quality players not playing where they should be.

Anonymous said...

It’s also about depth of players in Launceston wanting to play NPL. I fear we’ve only got 1 teams worth of players who can genuinely compete in Launceston. I don’t think another/different Launnie team is the answer..

Anonymous said...

Rangers can barely field two teams as is and also have no youth coming through, just a bunch of blokes that have played together forever and clinging on until the lights are turned off.

Anonymous said...

I saw a post with Ulverstone advertising for a NPL coach. Surely that is a joke? Adding in another sub par team is a great idea FFT..

Anonymous said...

Have a look at the state the club is in. Why would anyone with an ounce of pride stay and put up with that excuse for a club/team. Absolute comedy show. Never will change.

Anonymous said...

Heard all this at start of season about Lonny United that this year would see big improvement. Yet they are still hopeless. Riverside are no better.

Anonymous said...

Rangers are definitely better than riverside and United. Remember United were given a good pass into NPL after finishing 3rd in Northern Champ. Disgraceful decision from FT that shows just how out of touch they are

Anonymous said...

I saw Ulverstone put out for an NPL coach. This is madness FFT. Adding another sub par club to the state league.

Anonymous said...

God forbid players wanting to retire from the top flight and have a kick with their mates. What a sin!

Anonymous said...

Random prediction

Anonymous said...

You to thick to realise it was their choice to play for Dev? They’re big boys and know what comes with travelling and playing. Are they meant to start and play (x) amount of games because they’re from Lonnie? Jeez people say some questionable things on here.

Anonymous said...

Can’t even win the Northern Championship it’s crazy to even consider.

Anonymous said...

Somerset would have more credibility to put in for an NPL team with its history and success.

Anonymous said...

Is in Launie united last year in the npl? Why would Ulverstone look at what happened to them and want to join the npl

Anonymous said...

549 that FT stupidity is exactly how Lonny United got into the NPL. They finished 3rd in Northern Championship and then strait into NPL . So yes it’s stupid to everyone else but the brains trust at FT

Anonymous said...

Word is Lonny United want to exit NPL. And so they should! Been an embarrassment

Anonymous said...

Can go back to being mid table in the northern championship

Anonymous said...

They advertised for a NPL & U21 coach so must be planning on staying in.
