I hear the Zebras won the 2nd half 2-0 , gee and Souths want to be in a Mainland comp ? Hahaha

Anonymous said...

5-0 at half time

Anonymous said...

Did South play their second half with earpods in …tuned into the den.

Anonymous said...

Lonny United. Total. Embarrassment. You have embarrassed yourselves for 3 years. Time to go. FT do your job please

Anonymous said...

South looked average in the second half. Zebras exploited them well on the counter. Hopefully set a blueprint for South’s remaining opponents.

Anonymous said...

Youve obviously got an axe to grind !

Anonymous said...

Congratulations to Devonport Strikers WSL
players and coaching staff, fantastic season.

Anonymous said...

More concerned about River still losing games

Anonymous said...

What a turnout at Lightwood park today. Probably the biggest crowd for a Tasmanian game this year except for the Australia cup game at KGV. Good to see club supporters getting around this year, the support has been increasing all year at a few clubs.

Anonymous said...

It was 5 nil at halt time

Anonymous said...

Anyone would think lions won the title today sorry a draw doesn’t count so over the top .

Anonymous said...

Wow , they must be good. Since when do scores for half a game count got anything? South are not as good as many think. They are lucky the rest of the comp has dropped off considerably since previous years especially the teams who were in the top 3 or 4 last year.

Anonymous said...

Lmao. Five up at half time, they had nothing to play for in the second half. And as bad as you think they are, they are going to win the league and that is all that counts.

Anonymous said...

I think they did win it. For South.

Anonymous said...

Can your club not fill out an 800 seat grand stand? You sound jealous that borough has supporters

Anonymous said...

Like all teams, South can only play the teams that are in the comp. And last time I checked a win is a win?

Anonymous said...

Are you criticizing junior club players running on the pitch and praising the npl team, I thought it was great from kingborough to promote the game and create an atmosphere. Sorry kids under the age of 12 don’t understand when it’s the right time to celebrate. Silly comment 11:32.

Anonymous said...

Re 11.32 . At Den yesterday, great crowd but when final whistle blew there was just silence as no one won except South.

Anonymous said...

You don’t see the irony here

Anonymous said...

Agreed

Anonymous said...

Absolutely what an effort from kingborough.

Anonymous said...

Even a 12 year old knows that a draw isn't a win. But kingborough celebrate anything like they're the champions there are photos and champagne after any win

Anonymous said...

Good game between Knights and River. Knights fortunate with their fourth goal but you take them when you can. Two very soft penalties for River in particular the second. The big strong forward has it down pat, goes to ground very easily in the box but you need a tank to move him normally. Pleased to see the Knights show a lot of grit and determination. The group has come together pretty well now.

Champagne..... grow up.... trying talking facts and sense.

Anonymous said...

City’s draw is Tasmanian Football’s loss

Anonymous said...

City from chocolate's to expensive boiled lollies real quick.

Anonymous said...

Look at any win Lions have had they end up having the whole match day squad in a photo post game

Anonymous said...

Yep if you can’t beat them.. buy them

Anonymous said...

I didn’t know social media publicity was a crime. They are trying to promote the team and post photos of them after a game. There was a reason there was a good crowd at the game on weekend because they are promoting it. It’s good for Tasmanian football in general.

Anonymous said...

You’re seriously having a go at 12 year olds for running on the pitch after a draw…

Anonymous said...

This is the difference bewteen 1st on the table and last. South won the game 5-2 and Zebras make a comment about winning the 2nd half. It's been a long season for the Zebras with only 1 win for year, but possibly more 2nd half wins.

Anonymous said...

And that is why the club fails to win anything until the change the culture.

It’s just not cool finishing 3 or 4 each year but down the outlet it’s cause for celebration.

Anonymous said...

City… crumbled. Shame. Another wasted year

Anonymous said...

Yes. We have seen they lose to 10th place NPL Vic Teams. Second division hey

Anonymous said...

What’s the problem with taking a photo of a team?

Anonymous said...

Not overly I wouldn’t imagine.

I’m sure they’ve only spent what most of the others are or have done.

Anonymous said...

What and put Ulverstone in? What a joke. Lonnie has more credibility than the Ulv

Anonymous said...

What has city won recently. How far back do we need to go?

Anonymous said...

How so? United have zero credibility

Anonymous said...

Taroona winless in the WSL role put Jessie Williams for a couple of games each year to get a win .

Seriously what a joke !

Anonymous said...

Lost 3 games all season without City this season SH win the title probably 5 Rnds ago, so easy to make negative comments they just beat SH and Dev back to back was always a mountain to climb after RND 2 of games, City have been entertaining as a neutral enjoyed watching them.

Anonymous said...

Agree with the above hardly a wasted year for Lonnie City they’ve jumped from 5th to 2nd my clubs gone backwards, if I was involved there I would very happy with how they are looking.

I suppose you can’t argue with stupid.

Anonymous said...

The bigger concern for Boro is their pitch brought in 6 meters and Ive probably seen better cow paddocks tbh for state league football not great, all good having a grandstand and loud mouthed u21s but if the pitch is that bad you aren’t going to see a decent game unfortunately

Anonymous said...

Can’t believe we all need to cheer on Riverside this weekend

Anonymous said...

I guess other clubs have had success and they haven’t

Anonymous said...

Considering South signing players like Pokémon’s, their season has not been that good.

Anonymous said...

No way. United have had 3 years and are still getting massive flogging. Ulvie be way better.

Anonymous said...

As much as I don’t want this to go behind a paywall, but Walter’s blog has to be the best chronicle on football in Tasmania without question. Tony and Football Tas should embrace it and link it from their page. Clearly mainstream media isn’t interested in the skills the boys and girls have in the beautiful game. The pictures that Walter posts speak more than the 2nd rate YouTube coverage will ever provide. The Richie Benaud beige would look lovely with a little golden arches hue. Congrats to all for a great season.

That game at lightwood has to be one of the highest NPL attendances in years. I heard there was around 1000 people there, doesn’t anyone have the most recent high like that?

Anonymous said...

Fast turning into the next lions can’t lot’s of talk no silverware.

Anonymous said...

Yep it’s pretty cool coming third or fourth each year how’s the trophy cabinet looking ?

Let me guess empty as normal well done consistent performance each year are good .

Anonymous said...

Great player ,wonder King Kenny didn't sign her.
From what I hear they will struggle to keep their players

Anonymous said...

If you want to winge about pitches there are 5 others in the npl just as bad

Anonymous said...

I’d think it was the highest attendance at a league game ever. Only high attendances at Laka cups, Australia cups and finals. What an effort from kingborough and launie city, two clubs that will hopefully really challenge south next year. And in response to the comment about the pitch above, it’s the end of the season what do you expect? Lightwood is always in great condition but at the end of the season a bit worse for wear, but isn’t every pitch in tassie. It would still be top 3 pitches if the best in the state. Hopefully these two clubs can continue on an upward trajectory and keep these big crowds coming. Aswell as maybe bring some silverware in next year. Huge props to Fenech and Syson aswell as the two clubs this year regardless of whether they are bringing trophies in at the end of the year.

Anonymous said...

No chance

Anonymous said...

Anon 10.26 agree 100%. That’s why Taroona is and always will be just a social club. Their women’s team go year after year without winning many games at all. Nothing has improved,,,,,and our game administrators continually bang on about the quality of the women’s game blah blah blah . Joke!

Anonymous said...

They are the Lions in a black and white disguise

Anonymous said...

I remember coming second. Said no one ever

Anonymous said...

Walter, when was City’s last State League win? 90s?

Anonymous said...

Ulvie are a huge club.

Anonymous said...

I don’t think anyone’s celebrating it champ. If you make a point you have to back it up with some substance. I’m guessing the team you support are 4th or 5th this year ?

Anonymous said...

City would be celebrating it. Kings

Anonymous said...

I think they won in last when John from Devonport got red carded
