Clarence could be in for a torrid afternoon against Warriors

Glenorchy Knights host Launceston City at KGV Park at 2.15pm today in a rearranged NPL Tasmania fixture that has been brought forward to compensate Knights after their scheduled game against Devonport City was postponed.

Devonport are involved in Monday’s Lakoseljac Cup Final and Football Tasmania agreed to postpone their Saturday game against Knights so that they wouldn’t have to travel to Hobart twice in three days.

Knights and Launceston City came to an agreement to play the game this Saturday.

Ryan Backhouse has retained his place in the Knights team after coming on as a substitute against Clarence United last week and scoring.

Knights and City drew 2-2 the last time they met.

Diego Gutierrez-Chavez, Tom Young, Alex Leszczynski, Lachlan Hardwick and goalkeeper Dmitri Nester did not play in that earlier game against City but will feature this time around.

It will be only the third game for Knights in 44 days, while City have played just once in the past month.

Clarence United entertain Olympia Warriors at Wentworth Park at 4.30pm today.

Clarence go into this game after a 10-0 loss to Knights last week and they will be desperate to avoid a similar fate against a side that occupies second place on the standings.

Centre-forward Jack Ryan returns for Olympia after suspension and he could get a hat full of goals in this game.

In the remaining NPL fixture this weekend, Riverside Olympia are at home at Windsor Park to Kingborough Lions United at 2.30pm.

The Lions will be seeking their first win under new coach Jez Kenth.
