Good wins to all teams. Loved watched CZ smash Olympia 3-0. Some serious fire-power in the Olympia youngsters at well.

No offence to young Hart but no way is he in Pitchfords class.

What a great day it was watching the cup finals, especially the CZ win. Only downside was the disgusting behaviour of the Glenorchy Knights team sitting in the wet area behind the goals. I was there with my two young kids and found their inappropriate language (yelling out and calling the Olympia women s*+#s) during the game disgusting. Shame on you!!! No need for that at a game of football, or anywhere.

Had as many clean sheets mate - but you are entitled to your opinion - even if it is wrong.

You are entitled to your opinion about Hart, but the trophy in his hand shows that your opinion is not shared by others. You should also consider the age difference and NPL experience between these 2 players before adding a negative comment. A great season for both players and well done to both for their equally deserved awards.

Think you'll find old mate that this season he was and the clean sheets prove that. So pick up you gloves and keep on working cobba

Golden Glove is for most clean sheets which both players finished on 6 each. First time the award has been shared.

2016 - N.Giantsopoulos (14)
2017 - M.Mercuri (8)
2018 - N.Pitchford (9)
2019 - N.Pitchford (9)
2020 - L.Hart / N.Pitchord (6)

I’m no Devonport supporter but would have to agree there is no way Pitchy should have had to share the golden glove award as there’s a massive gulf between those two, Heart had a good year pitchy had a great year ... I’d suggest Lachie should have perhaps won the rising star award given he was good all year not just for a few games like the winner

Well done to Clarence Zebras for winning the women's cup. A bit too good for NTC+3 on the day. Good to see both teams win a trophy though. Plenty of talent at the top end of our women's league which looks good for the future.

Thank you Ben. I didnt realise it was as simple as clean sheets. My apologies to Lachie.

People should probably do their research before commenting..

Joel Stone is a fantastic player, but in my mind , there is no way he was the best player in the NPL Tas this season. He was nowhere near as good as last year. Joffrey, Walter , Reynolds, Pitchford, Morton all had better years in my opinion.

Feel a bit sorry for Olympia, by far the best team all year. They played a great brand of football till yesterday. That’s the way it goes I suppose.

I thought form and value would come into it. I was wrong and I said that.

Clarence Zebras wins 2 bits of the silverware congratulations and well deserved. Clarence Zebras have done a fantastic job faced with numerous injuries to the likes of Berry, Burdack, Ferrier, Kannegiesser, Marmion, Stalker and Steventon.

I hope there's a complaint put in about the foul behaviour by people from a certain club.
They should be barred for 12 months at least.

9:46AM, did you see the match manger ? If so you could of reported it then. I did see him at the wet area towards the end of the game.
Best to make a complaint to FT as they can use footage for ID.
It doesn't say much about these peoples wives & girlfriends does it , that's if they have one.

Thanks for clarifying Ben but Geez if 6 clean sheets gets you the award they may need to add some extra criteria .... again Pitchy by a country mile and there is no one in the state even close to him so sometimes stats do lie

Anonymous said...

Um no they weren't.

This is the Golden Glove award, not necessarily 'best keeper'.

It is an objective award. It is the Golden Boot equivalent for a keeper.

Most goals = golden boot. Not necessarily the best forward in the game.

Most clean sheets = golden glove.

I completely agree that Pitchy is the best keeper in the comp. But this isn't what the award is.

What a pointless comment. I think every team had injuries throughout the season. They were at full strength when they played Olympia - and so were Olympia. Clabras were definitely the best team on the day yesterday in the cup final but not good enough during the season.

Lachlan Hart will still be 20 years old at the start of next season, every club in southern Tasmania would love to sign him. He is the best goalkeeper coming through and the Knights are extremely lucky to have him. Remember Keepers are at their best between 24 and early 30’s.

Let's give credit where credit is due. Well done to Clarence Zebras on winning the Statewide Cup final - best team on the day. Well done to Olympia FC Warriors on winning the league - best team during the season. No excuses!!!!!

What South Hobart and Ken Morton could have done with young Hart in goals. Pity they did not rate him when he was at the club.

Anon.9.46. Agree 100%. It has been nice not having that unacceptable behaviour and language around the grounds.
Unfortunately it has raised its head with this club again.
It was common behaviour when they were in the NPL previously.
FFT must police supporter behaviour. It is their complex.

South is proud to have helped Hart develop as a keeper. We did rate him playing in the Challange league team at 17 with a 19 year old Keiren Brown playing ahead of him. We wish Hart well as he continues to develop as a keeper.

I don’t condone abuse to any players but humorous banter is an enjoyable part of the game and let’s remember this is senior football and not under 12”S so players are allowed to be given a ribbing .... only thing I would say about the Knights supporters is that they’re very boisterous when winning or its level but you barely hear a whimper when they’re losing which is really when you see true supporters colours

This went a little further than being given a ribbing. Would not call it humurous at all!

Anonymous said...

Clarence Zebras have never been at full strength when playing Olympia, you clearly do not know the players.

Anonymous said...

LOL. Now the excuses come out. Why play players that aren't fully fit? Why not give others a go like most of the other teams do? I call bullshit!!!!! All teams have had injuries during the season but they don't sook about it and use it as an excuse.

Anonymous said...

Anon 1.28pm.
Why the hell would you play injured players when you have fully fit ones available? Think you might be telling porkies.

Anonymous said...

Can anyone actually comment on what the Knights supporters were doing?

Anonymous said...

Not worth repeating their rubbish. Let's just say it was unsavoury comments during the WOMENS final. I thought this crap died years ago.
