Was good to be able to watch 3 games today. King did enough to get the win which wasnt suprising. Zebras smashing city was suprising in a pretty average game gone are the days of the classic Italian derbys. Riverside shouldnt be in the league they are terrible. Knights deserved the points against Dport. Was really looking forward to this game and i must say it was pretty disapointing. The standard of the game was awful from both teams, there was no build up play just the hoof to space most the time which was disapointing. Still think Dport win the league next week and if they do Knights have wasted a huge chance as this Dport team is an average team compared to past years
Great result today for the Knights, every player showed their grit, refused to be intimidated
by Devonport.
Show some respect to Port they get it done good teams do that. Not many high pressure games have beautiful football you can't say it wasn't entertaining
I went to the Knights-Strikers game as a neutral, supporting neither team. I must say I observed the Devonport teams petulant behaviour at going down a goal and their niggly violent style of play generally and quickly started hoping the Knights would win. I was amazed that the referee didn't issue red cards to 2 particular Devonport players and one from the Knights. He just seemed to stand there, eyes glazed over and "saw nothing" while players were punching each other. Was he frightened? I agree the match was awful to watch.
Devonport have dodged a bullet by not having to play Avondale this season and show how bad the standard of our league has dropped the past couple seasons
What an embarrassing NPL weekend! What sport are we trying to promote for our youngsters her in Tas! Firstly we went to KGV for some excitement. Boy did we get it! Expecting to view a professional football game but instead it was shear poor sportsmanship which led to violent behaviour on more than one occasion. Some may say it was exciting but we think these players should have been red carded. How do you tell the junior players it’s non contact and then the seniors are carrying on like a bunch of school yard bullies. ( village idiots) . Those particular players don’t deserve a place in the NPL. So then there is the evening. Lions vs Olympia. Braved the wet weather but ended up inside after listening to the language from the Lions coaching box (and players on bench) ) and the Warriors coach screaming like a crazy man! Kind of hard for the players on the pitch to focus on the game, especially the warriors copping abuse not only from Lions but also their own coach who seemed to have lost control once again! Very disappointing

Devonport are very average. They just rely on long ball and being a more physical side and bullying teams. Not used to things not going their way away from Valley Rd and their behaviour was appalling and unsporting after they went behind. Knights are a better side by far. Both sides clearly lacking a genuine striker
Riverside simply awful. An embarrasment to the league. Credit to their players for even turning up. They need to go back to Northern Champ. White eagles should take their place in NPL
Id suggest not going to any football on the mainland or overseas. You have a small misconception of what the games like.
Anon 8.49 AM. Since when has the game been non contact ? Sounds like you may be little precious .Football has always been a contact sport. I presume you were not around then ,when men played the game 30 - 40 years ago unlike some that try and play it today.
Devonport are a team of men ( with the odd young player/s ) not a team of boys.
I have said it for years that the league is too young with too many non mature bodies playing.
If you look at the any interstate NPL team the teams mostly consist of mature players with a sprinkling of youth , not the other way around.
It has been the same problem for years in Tassie and the sooner that clubs realize the value of having mature bodies involved the game longer , the better and we will end up with a tougher league that is more competitive with mainland clubs. Teams do need younger players but not dominated by younger players . It requires a good mix of old and young.
What a load of rubbish. How can you seriously believe Knights are better than Port? You MUST be a Knight$ fan to have written such dross.
Knights and Dport are both good teams and both well coached. Its fitting that they will end up level on the final day, goal difference being the unfortunate adjudicator.
