South Hobart beat New Town White Eagles 2-0 at KGV Park today in the Championship section of the Summer Cup competition.
Eagles had plenty of chances to salvage
a draw or even win this match, but poor finishing combined with some excellent goalkeeping
by South Hobart’s Michael Hurd, cost them dearly.

Eagles often found themselves in
one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, but Hurd blocked the shots.
Samson Juju gave South Hobart the lead
in the 22nd minute when the Eagles goalkeeper spilled a cross from
the right and Juju tapped the ball into an empty net from close range.
Sam Tooze hit South Hobart’s second from
range in the second half.

Jacob Clamp is back in the State and made
an appearance for his former club Eagles, but it may take him a little time to
settle into the squad.
Eagles coach, Andrew Leszczynski, said
his side was not yet match fit and was definitely in pre-season mode for this
competition.
It was a tough, physical game, but one
lacking in technical quality from both teams.
The corners and free-kicks were poor and
the passing erratic on too many occasions.
Sam Berezansky came on as a substitute
for South Hobart. He has had far better
games in the club’s NPL senior side.

I see Kingborough debuted big name off season signing Sean Heathorn in this game against Metro, couldn't catch the game and would be interested to hear how he went, big things expected of him this year in the NPL after being a solid performer for Hobart United in past seasons
The Jacob Clamp photo looks like a red card offence. suds to the thigh.
Was Jake Pullen booked Walter?
