Is there a rationale behind that eagles kit? Even as an away kit that is pretty odd colour combo

Head coach is a Spurs fan. All you need to know about the garish purple

Anonymous said...

Bit like Brown at Clarence. He is a Liverpool supporter and their strip reflected that for a time.

Anonymous said...

Beware the ego of the coach!

Anonymous said...

Not sure Liverpool ever wore Black shorts

Behaviour of Devonport players is appalling. Manhandle riverside player in box and then carry on like spoiled children when a correct penalty is given. Very ironic considering how many soft penalties they get during a season.

Why have a Championship League Cup instead of just extending the League season? From the looks of the results some teams are just playing Reserves players in this new Comp anyway.

South Hobart played a cup match on Tuesday and then had to back up with a club game on Friday. No wonder they were flat against Glenorchy. When was the last time a team had to play 2 local games in 4 days ? This comp is already looking like another Devonport-and-who-can-beat-them sort of season, with 2 cannon fodder teams propping up the table. Will we ever see an NPL comp here where all teams are competitive ?

Are you ok? Don’t be jealous. It gets you nowhere in life. Go outside and get some sunshine and off the keyboard.

Replying to April 16 1.33PM. Did you actually watch the South vs Knights game? South definitely weren’t flat against Knights like you said. Watch the replay & look how many shots at goal they had. Far from flat! Their loss was pure & simple because of the incredible saves by The knights GK. Some of the best keeping skills I’ve watched in a long time.

South played Monday not Tuesday.

Ugh said...

Even a Monday to Friday night is a short turnaround. Why wasn't the South Vs Glenorchy game put on the Sunday? Poor programming is just part of the poor admin in our game and the poor comps we are dished up every season.

Anonymous said...

Nobody at South was concerned about the short timeframe, we played well but could not get past some great goalkeeping.

South Hobart were the home team for their Cup Game and would have had some control over when it was played over the long weekend. The already established NPL roster should have been (and I am guessing was) taken into account when South nominated their preferred game day/time.

Anonymous said...

You do realise south Hobart chose to play their HOME cup game on Monday it was not football tasmania

Anonymous said...

Simple answer mate. FT again showed how out of touch they are with the game to allow 3 teams from the North.

Anonymous said...

Personally, I blame Devonport

Anonymous said...

South Hobart would have chose to play Monday in the cup. And will choose play knights on Sunday in the cup. No need to make excuses for them.

Anonymous said...

The south Hobart keeper made a few good saves as well.

Anonymous said...

I think we need another team from Launceston

Anonymous said...

Young Pitt looked dangerous on the flank all night.

South will be disappointed he was able to shoot and scored from that distance though.

The league is set up nicely. Not too much between the top 6

Anonymous said...

Not too much between the top 6?!

Bahahaha.. Ya joking?

C.Zebs and Kingo not near the pace! A couple decent results early on, but are far too poor in patches / inconsistant.

Watch the top 4 seperate from the bottom 4 over the coming months.

I think you are spot on.
Same old same old.
You do the same thing over and over, you get the same results.

Reply to anon re behaviour of dev players, sick of hearing how bad they behave, have you not watched games and seen the amount of times they are double handed shoved in the back deliberate attempts to take them out of the games and continuous holding on by opposing players and that’s y Dev are given free kicks. Mind you they would get heaps more if things weren’t overlooked. When port players have had enough they may react and give it back but apparently that is unacceptable from other team supporters. Apparently other teams can do what they want to get a win and port should just cop it.

Anonymous said...

Oh dear!
What are you on about. That post is worse than all the Dev bashing posts

Anonymous said...

I tend to agree.

Devonport players are treated unfairly by the opposition and their supporters.

Anonymous said...

Knights are not that great either now the money has dried up.

Anonymous said...

You mustn’t have seen a Penvonport game. The referees still look after them despite all their whinging. Maybe that’s what all teams need to do to get a fair go against them.

Anonymous said...

Score more goals than Devonport do in a game and you win. Easy really??

Anonymous said...

Hard to do when penvonport get the refs they want

Anonymous said...

Knights money dried up??? Maybe they wouldn’t pay you what you think you are worth? Either that or you are talking to the wrong person who may be disgruntled. Good players are being paid their worth. Assumptions get you no where in life. Walters blog is meant to be about football & not about childish comments like yours. My reply is probably childish as well but couldn’t help but reply to such a petty comment.

Anonymous said...

Because Devenport are involved in the scheduling of refs mate..

Anonymous said...

Pathetic

Anonymous said...

What are you talking about

Anonymous said...

1st I wouldn't play for Knights. 2nd you purchased a title and everyone knows it. 3rd and its been said so many times before, players talk. What some players get is no big secret. So yes Knights money hasn't disappeared but it's dried up.
