American import Horacio Gutierrez Jr to make his debut for Lions against South Hobart tonight

South Hobart will make only one change to the squad which lost to Olympia Warriors on Friday night when they travel to Lightwood Park today [Wednesday] to face Kingborough Lions United at 7pm in an NPL Tasmania fixture.

The game had been scheduled to be played at South Hobart Oval at 6pm, but concerns about the light led to the change of venue.

The game between the sides on 19 May will now be switched from Lightwood Park to South Hobart Oval.

The only change to the squad will be the inclusion of Sam Berezansky, who replaces Alex Walter.

Walter suffered concussion against Olympia on Friday and was replaced at half-time.  He will not be available for another week or two.

It will be interesting to see how South Hobart line up for this game.

I expect Adam Gorrie to move back to his natural right-fullback position after being used in midfield on Friday to make way for Jack Bowman.

Bowman is normally a central defender, but he made way for Hugh Ludford, who partnered Rasmus Philipsen in the centre of defence.

It would not surprise to see Ludford partner Oscar Thomas at the heart of defence, allowing Philipsen to move to left-back.  This may mean Bowman is relegated to the bench.

Kingborough will have their new American/Mexican signing, Horacio Gutierrez Jr, on view for the first time.

Gutierrez Jr, a 22-year-old creative midfielder, has played for Mississippi Blues FC and FC Dallas El Paso.

Jake Brennan and Danny Cowen will probably lead the Lions’ attack, while Nick Cuthbertson and Joel Schuth are likely to be the twin centre-backs.

For South Hobart, it is vital that they win.  Having lost their opening game 2-1 to Olympia Warriors, they certainly don’t want to fall as much as 6 points off the pace after two rounds.

Kingborough will also be desperate to win what is their opening league fixture.

The fact that it is at home makes a win even more desirable.

Can you ask for entry fee refund? Sorry Boro were ordinary and South only marginally better. At least South have a system and done structure. Boro all over the place with no structure and very little it no idea what to do especially going forward. Struggled to make any consecutive passes or even try to make passes. Long season ahead.
