Olympia Warriors ran out easy winners against
Clarence United in this Challenge League encounter at home at Warrior Park, but
the home side got an early shock.
It took Clarence only 6 minutes to take the lead. Zach Hall floated over a deep cross from the
right and Cade Smith eluded his marker and nodded a looping header over keeper
Darby Randall and into the net.
Olympia equalised in the 12th minute with
a deflected shot by Shartiel Tuyishime.
In the 19th minute, a cheeky back-heeler
by Kyle Vincent from close range gave Olympia a 2-1 lead.
It was 3-1 in the 24th minute when
Olympia captain Sam Hills scored.
Ten minutes before the interval, Paul Bremner
powered a header past Darby Randall to make it a goal the difference, while 2
minutes before the break, Bremner was unlucky not to equalise when his header
came back off the crossbar.
Tuyishime’s long-range chip 8 minutes after the
resumption made it 4-2 for Olympia, while 5 minutes later, Bilal Ait Mamaar
increased the home side’s lead to 5-2.
Tuyushime completed his hat-trick and Olympia’s 6-2
win with a goal in the 71st minute.
