Glenorchy Knights face Kingborough Lions
United at 7.30pm at KGV Park tomorrow [Thursday] in the NPL Tasmania section of
the Summer Cup competition.
Both sides have had a single outing to date
and both have lost their game.
Knights lost 2-1 to Olympia Warriors and the
Lions went down 3-1 to the Warriors.
Thursday night’s game should be a close
contest, even though both sides are still tweaking their line-ups and tactics.
Knights should have done better against Olympia
and that game showed they need to improve their finishing.
The Lions took a while to get into the contest
against Olympia but once they did they fashioned some good chances.
Their new Spanish signing, fullback Javier
Verdu Sanchez, scored an excellent goal and Knights will need to look out for
his attacking forays and also at set-pieces.
On Saturday, Knights host visiting Victorian
side, Strathmore Split FC, who also came here to play Knights two years ago, at
4pm at KGV Park.
The curtain-raiser at 2pm is an intra-club game
between Knights’ under-13 and under-14 teams.
Meanwhile. South Hobart will not be going to
Melbourne this weekend for the return game against Pascoe Vale.
Pascoe Vale beat South Hobart 8-1 in Hobart
two weeks ago and had been scheduled to go to Melbourne this Saturday for a
return match.

South new import claims to have signed a contract with the club but the club doesn't pay players LOL.
Did South or Pascoe pull out of the reutrn game??
BIG test for Knights. If they lose to a not so good side as Kjngborough
alarm bells should start to ring.
Their recruitment has been much more active and successful than Kingborough.
On paper they should win by 4 or 5 and if not I would regard that as a poor result.
The stage of the season is no excuse as both teams are at the same stage and performance
and result will reflect what’s been happening at training.
Knights could be in for a shock .
