New Town White Eagles begin their 2021 Southern Championship campaign at 11.30am today at South Hobart Oval when they face South Hobart.

The two sides met in last Saturday’s Championship Summer Cup Final and Eagles scraped home 3-2 after extra-time.

Today’s clash is expected to be every bit as close.

Eagles have signed former Hobart Juventus and Beachside defender Henry Fagg, but he is expected to start in the reserves today.

Beachside are away to Kingborough Lions United at Lightwood Park at 4.30pm today and will have two new Brazilians on view.

Danilo Franca and Fernandez Oliveira will make their debuts, together with new signing from Glenorchy Knights, Tobi Taiwo.

Jett Clark, a 16-year-old from Clarence Zebras, is expected to play and coach Romilton Amaral expects big things from the youngster.

Glenorchy Knights host Olympia Warriors at KGV Park at 2.15pm and the home side should be too experienced for the visitors.

Taroona appear to be shaping up for a good season and home-ground advantage should favour them when they welcome Clarence Zebras to Kelvedon Park for a 2.15pm kick-off.

University face a tricky assignment against visitors South East United at Olinda Grove at 2.15pm today, while the sparks should fly when Hobart United take on major rivals Metro at 2.15pm at Weily Park.

The Women’s Super League kicks off today with South Hobart welcoming newcomers Devonport to South Hobart Oval for a 2pm start and Launceston United at home to southerners Clarence Zebras at 2.15pm.

Reigning champions Olympia Warriors are in action tomorrow when they go to Kelvedon Park to take on Taroona at 2.15pm.
