LOL attendance 3k. There will NEVER be an A League team in Tas

Can we stop banging on about our own team now. That was embarrassing, hate to think what the Thursday game attendance will be. Wonder if it’s too late to take it back to Victoria?

A good day of football. Glad I made the trip up north.

I disagree. We want our own team not someone else's.

Well i must admit that was a surprise. I did not expect the Lions to win so clearly. I dont think Devonport really had a decent effort on the Lions goal and if it was not for Pitchford in the last few minutes the Lions could of had a couple more. It is still early days but makes the next few weeks very interesting.

Why on earth do they powers that be insist on A-League’s games being played in Launceston? It is black hole for Football in the State Launceston sides always propping up the NPL ladder.
Also played on an AFL field where you are miles from the action. Did not work for “Victory” not going to work for WUN.

I remember when the Victory League first started the aim was for 1000 spectators each game? Has that ever happened? AFL crowds seem pretty poor as well. Tasmanians just don’t seem keen unfortunately.

and if the team is not winning any stadium we use would be empty. We don't NEED an a-league team. The a-league is run to the detriment of the local leagues.

A-league has been a joke right from the start. Ruined football in Australia and stabbed the people in the back who poured blood sweat and tears into establishing the game into what it once was. No promotion or relegation there for a reason, to keep the true original clubs spread throughout Australia away which is what they always wanted. A-league = plastic franchise league.

Eagles seem to be ticking along nicely on and off the pitch, never seen Clare street so alive on a Thursday night, Tommy Fotak has the lads working hard and smart. There 60th Anniversary appears to be bringing all the past players back to attend and playing this year.
Div 6 littered with names of old like Wade Savage, Matt Burn, Adam Bates, Chris Jones and sitting on top of the ladder, is great to watch them knocking the ball around last Sunday, you lose fitness but you don't lose class!
Well done committee, from what I here from club legends like Dreamer and Wassy the future is looking good and a bumper turn out for the 60th.
