South Hobart and Glenorchy Knights could increase their lead at the top of the NPL Tasmania standings on Saturday

South Hobart and Glenorchy Knights have a great chance to increase their lead at the top of the NPL Tasmania standings tomorrow.

South Hobart are away to fifth-placed Olympia Warriors at Warrior Park at 2.15pm, while the Knights host second-last Launceston City at KGV Park at 4.30pm.

Both clubs must be favourites to win and that means they can increase their lead at the top if Devonport can beat the visiting Kingborough Lions United at Valley Road at 2.15pm.

The game at Valley Road could be a make-or-break encounter for both sides.

Kingborough are like a ship on a storm-tossed sea.  They are either riding the crest of a wave, or they’re out of sight in a trough.  I wonder which it will be tomorrow?

Devonport are in danger of relinquishing their title and must win if they are to stay on course.

There are whispers that the poor results are causing rifts at Valley Road.  Anything but a win will turn those whispers into something with greater volume.

Knights will miss Joffrey N’Koso after he joined Pascoe Vale during the week and they still have injury concerns.

City have Gediminas Krusa in their ranks now and he can be very dangerous given his technical skill, vision, tactical nous and finishing ability.

South Hobart should have the measure of a young Warriors side, but Olympia’s Kyle Vincent could be a match winner here.

His speed and finishing make him a danger and if he works through the middle rather than wide on the flanks, he will pose numerous problems for Luke Bighin and Loic Feral.

The remaining game of the round is at Windsor Park where bottom-side Riverside Olympic welcome southerners Clarence Zebras, who are sixth, for a 4.30pm kick-off.

The sides seem fairly evenly matched and this promises to be a close contest.

Did Pascoe Vale offer him a new pair of boots?
