Knights versus Lions the pick of Saturday NPL action

The match-of-the-round in the Tasmanian NPL competition tomorrow must surely be the Glenorchy Knights versus Kingborough Lions United one at 2pm at KGV Park.

Knights are second on the standings, 3 points ahead of third-ranked Lions, and this game is of vital importance to both sides.

Kingborough have much to prove after they lost 2-1 to Launceston City last weekend.

The Knights were unimpressive in beating Olympia 2-1 and they, too, must show better form.

The Lions will hope that Romero Vilar and Adam McKeown are fit enough to start as they need goalscorers.

Knights will welcome back midfielder Jordan Muller after injury and his presence in the engine room should bolster the side.

Neither side can afford to lose if they are to finish second, so this should be a titanic tussle.

Devonport should have few problems against Clarence Zebras and may increase their lead at the top of the standings if Knights slip up against Lions.

South Hobart can smell blood in the water and they may well tear the visiting Riverside Olympic to pieces at South Hobart Oval.

Riverside were spared serious embarrassment against Devonport last weekend and they are sure to give everything against South Hobart and may be able to limit the damage.

Launceston City should have the wood over the visiting Olympia Warriors, but the Warriors do seem to be improving each week and City will not be able to slacken off against the southerners.

Watched the. Zebras dev game.ltoday. Was interesting to watch Devonport Divers whine and winge when things don’t go there way when Zebs were on top and leading. They have one diver in particular who is an embarrassment to tassie football. And how many of there team are actually local Devonport players.? They carry on about zebras and knights and kingborough spending. What a joke

7 of the starting 11, 1 on the bench plus another 2 who are in their 5th year at the club. Great results all round today I thought!
