Gee,how can two clubs merge and both their men's and women's program go to the proverbial?
This year they are all rubbish,if you want to play with the big boys time to spend some money.

I’m definitely not an Olympia supporter but live-streamed the game against South. Credit must be given. Untill the end of the game I was sure it would be a draw. Superb playing by the warriors, end to end game. Jake Vandermay, Brayton Allen & Alex Holmes stood out for the Warriors.

Devonport Divers luck running out. Lucky to beat zebs last week. didn’t deserve to beat lonny city a few weeks ago. Lucky to get a draw against kingborough Even with their Usual soft penalty they Get almost every week at valley road. Only the diving and whinging when things don’t go there way is guaranteed

Sums up the talent at Zebras .If you want a great laugh just check out the first Launceston goal on the highlights. What disgraceful defence by the same backs Every game this season but this one is the greatest swing and a miss I have ever seen

Class act by Nick Morton when scored the last goal of the game. One day he may grow up.

What's the whole diving thing about? Devonport were never known this in the past. Maybe someone from the club could take a minute to jump on here and fill us in on why they are doing it?

South v Olympia great game, game could have gone either way with the warriors pushing south to the final whistle. Recent performances are a good sign for Olympia.

Olympia are starting to come together now, great finish by pickup on the volley. Credit to the inexperienced warriors, turning their season around well.

Looks like the Eastern Shore will be painted Blue next Saturday after another pathetic defensive display by Clarence Zebras . On with the show !

Luck running out? Unbeaten in 13 matches? They’ve been the best club by miles. Even when they don’t play their best they still find a way to get a result. That’s what good teams do. Every team besides the top 4 just rock up to games with no tactical structure at all..just throw them on the field in a 4-3-3 and just hope for the best. You can argue that the standard has drop but it has to come from a whole club infrastructure. Grassroots programs etc and having funds to attract a decent coach and so on and so forth. People whinge about Port spending money on their players but people would be surprised that only the imports get paid , compared to all the splashing going on down south. For what? To finish 2-4th?

Zebras. What a …………..joke.
You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Very expensive !

Good to see a south v Olympia rival game close and tense again. Olympia supporters create a good atmosphere.

Anon 3.32 pm.
Your comment about only top 4 clubs going out to play with no
tactical structure is the most ridiculous comment I have seen
for a very long time. How the hell do you know what tactics / structure the bottom
four clubs adopt or use in games? So they just go out and play with no plan ?
What an ABSOLUTE knob!

Not taking anything away from Launceston City as they are going great , but my god have you ever seen anything like the farcical defence of the Clebras ? That’s it for me I’m Never going to watch another one of their games while those imposters are playing at the back or even sitting on the bench for that matter

Anonymous said...

Don’t worry they’re paying plenty but not spent well

Loved the whole south team going up to a bunch of kids and silencing them when they scored the winner. Very mature from an npl mens team. Typical south.

Olympia may get their 3rd win of the season against Clarence next week. Looks like zebras are struggling to get momentum. Olympia’s recent performances may earn them 3 points. Will be a good game.

Anonymous said...

If the bunch of kids from Olympia can't handle being silenced when the opposition score then maybe they shouldn't give it out. From someone at the ground the kids added to the atmosphere and I think they will come back even more vocal next year.

Anonymous said...

Nothing wrong with a good celebration to opposition fans regardless of the age. Hope more clubs find that passion from both players and fans

Anonymous said...

The young Olympia fans know what they’ll receive when the opposition score, they are passionate about their club and created some good atmosphere at the ground and I’m sure both teams used that to their advantage, south gave it back to em and that’s all a part of a passionate rivalry between the two clubs.

Football Australia were it town last week sounds like lot's of club's may not meet the criteria in 2023.

Apologies, should have worded that better - should have said that they don’t execute their game plan? That better for you? Cause by the looks of it, some teams just literally go out there with their lineup and play no brand of football. Just reactive football, not proactive. How many teams do you think do video sessions and game analysis? Probably a few to be honest- and it shows. People are going on about the standard this year- besides Port, South and Knights there hasn’t been much quality. Boro have the quality but are inconsistent. I’m not trying to bash other clubs but if we want to have a standard here in Tassie then it’s fair to say that for the bottom clubs it just isn’t good enough. And it’s not taking jabs at players for say, but like I said it might call for a whole club restructure - farming youth players, getting in quality youth and senior coaches to then attract players around the area (or players travelling from out of town), calls for 2-3 decent imports (which requires a bit of cash), funding from councils, etc to help with facilities and grounds. Call me a knob but you can’t sit there and tell me watching Riverside or Olympia excites you?

No Jeremy price no zebras defence it’s pretty simple the guy is the GOAT

Anonymous said...

Does football Tasmania meet the standard ,as the rostering is rubbish and generally a original idea hasnt come out of there in years.
The overall way the place is ran is rubbish

Now you have changed your comment! They do have a game plan ? Make up your mind.
Have you ever been involved in running/managing a club, coaching at senior NPL level ?
Most teams train twice a week , one or two may train 3 times.Majority of players are not earning a living from playing the game. You say video sessions and game analysis? When do you propose that these are done? I would guess that most coaching teams do a review of some sort after every game and structure training sessions around that, with an explanation to the playing group as to what they are working on and why.Do you propose that all teams have video sessions after every game ? Most clubs struggle to get all their players to training sessions all of the time. How do you propose these are conducted with all in attendance ? In a perfect world , yes you may be correct , but week in week out this in not possible at this level.Clubs may run a video session as a one off , but not after every game .The game in Tassie has dropped in standard and exposure due to poor management of the game. Once this improves, if ever , then the competition may attract more sponsors = more money= better imports/players = better competition, as it was in the early stages of the State League. You cant just " get in quality youth payers " .Where from ? Attract players from where ? There may be players in loacl leagues who are good enough but wont or cant commit to NPL. Take off your rose-coloured glasses and look at real picture.

Reckon you'll find the ones that train 3 times a week and do all those things are consistently successful. Port,Knights,South

You are a knob (your words). I agree with 9.48am.
And to be honest the South vs Olympia game was an exciting game so I guess it did "excite" me.

Anon 11.56.
I would do some investigating first before making comments . You may be surprised.
I think you will find the South senior squad for example trains twice a week.
3 times in pre-season like most other clubs but twice during the season.
I cant comment about Knights or Devonport because I dont know.

Anonymous said...

This is a joke obviously as he just kicks and hopes ,they were talking about structure before he has no idea,

Anonymous said...

Pretty well spot on there ,if you don't train then how can you play good football

Anonymous said...

FA should be looking into Football Tas it's a total shambles and holding the game back in the State !

Anonymous said...

Yes couldn't agree more
