Riverside unable to beat Launceston City despite having more shots

Launceston City easily accounted for Riverside Olympic 3-0 last night at Windsor Park in an NPL Tasmania replay.

The first match between the sides on Friday, 15 March 2024 was abandoned after Riverside’s Will Fleming suffered a broken leg in the first half.

City scored all three goals last night in the opening half.

Diesel Murfet gave City the lead after a mere 3 minutes, while Mac Wilcox made it 2-0 after 8 minutes.

Thierry Swaby hit City’s third 9 minutes before the interval to effectively end the contest.

Riverside had more shots on goal and on target than City but could not score.
