Barnard did not score 2 today.
He only scored 1 (the pen) as the other "goal" was ruled an own goal
Mathew Sanders has only 1 player to thank for still being in front for the Golden Boot over Miles Barnard , and that’s the little number 10 for Clarence United Kane Hatcher , nearly half the size of Barnard he closed the big man down at least half a dozen times in the first half and about the same thereafter and showed some brilliant speed and agility in Defense today frustration clearly shown in Barnard actions , well done young fella , if Sanders clinches this next week you can mark this display down as the defining moment and he should do the right thing at the bar ,
100 Percent would have to agree with everything you said. Not only did Hatcher get a bloody nose from Barnard early in to the game, he got up and tussled on putting it some some wonderful defensive efforts for his size to not allowing Barnard to have any real chances and blocking many cut backs from Bidwell and putting an incredible last ditch slide tackle to stop Bidwell traveling in to the box.
Overall very impressed with Clarence in the first half, sure it wasn't the prettiest football but they held Devonport from any real scoring opportunities (scored from set pieces due to Devonports height)
Really hoping some of the young clarence lads move on to bigger clubs that will allow them to play attacking football. The main 3 I would say have a future at the big clubs would have to be Snell (once he returns from injury) Hatcher and Burt.
Sanders isn't in front.. Its 27 goals each.
Sanders 29 Barnard 28
Fantastic too see "Daggy" one of the states best ever strikers passing his wealth of knowledge onto these bunch of kids.
Great stuff.
Watching the port clarence goals highlights on youtube. How is Barnards first goal an OG? Haha something dodgy going on there to make that decision. Sanders getting a little leg up in the race i think
How was Barnards penalty re taken. Think it's all evened itself out of a course of the season. I remember zebras getting screwed over by the linesman Anzac day and that was Sanders who scored so move on
The penalty was retaken because Dyson came off his line a mile...
"Think it's all evened itself out of a course of the season"
haha such a low-level and flawed response. thanks for that.
