Will the axe swing?

For who?

Kingborough the biggest disappointment. Launnie city the biggest improvers. Devonport got the title easy. Riverside a joke

I may be wrong here, but didn't Zebras or knights (Cant remember) go to the council a few years back and ask why nothing had been done to KGV and they were unaware things needed fixing/updating and FFT only said anything or addressed it once the news was in the paper?

Sorry but how are knights where they are?
Average team average coach

What a poor effort by South Hobart to not go on with the job and crush the Zebras on Saturday . After the first usual botched defensive effort by Zebras for the first goal Souths just seemed content to just let the comical Zebras trip over there feet and steal the ball at any chance but some wayward efforts up front from Souths just teased the Zebras into thinking they had some sort of chance to draw the game . Come on boys you should have trounced them.

Did you actually watch the game? Dodgy penalty one end and an obvious one waved away soon after ? No side able to string more than 4 passes. Diving ...... shall I continue?

Yes I Was one of the few that was at the game apart from the championship teams that were watching on as well, so what did I get wrong ? Souths could at least hit the players when they pass the ball but could hardly finish it off and Zebras could belt the ball sky high over the sideline every time they tried to defend . Not sure on your diving comment unless your talking about the Zebras keeper starting to dive after the ball was in the net ?

just some of my thoughts on the season so far after reading some of the above comments. Devonport obviously the dominant team in the league, they play a hard aggressive brand of football and have an obvious non football tactical side to their game that works for them well.. Will probably win by a few more points than their current lead. Knights just are not the team they have been. Lost a few players to interstate and retirements and unable to replace them. No real forward to speak of make a lot of chances and miss some of the easiest goals you could imagine. Some solid mid field players but no attacking midfielder and no real hard ball winner, at least one who is a big disappointment, back four solid usually and save them at times. May stay second.
Kingborough lions a big mystery, just do not get the job done, one or two Good games a year, have great facilities good money behind them, just cant do it.
South Hobart always well coached good mix of established experience and up and comer players. Always that lingering grumble in the group about one player able to do as he pleases.
Launceston city, well coached always, Great attitude just missing a player or two, hard to compete financially to attract those players against the Black hole of the N.W. I think they could be a real force again in the next two or three years.
Riverside just keep on trying but lack squad strength and depth.
Clarence zebs, woeful defence a couple of stars who suffer bad cases of white line fever, take every contact personally and play the man far too often. Give away free kicks and possession. Are taking a long time to rebuild, three coaches in a short period of time don't help.
Olympia, very young but talent is there if they can keep them, older experience players do not add much. Fans appear to have left in droves, same time as the money left.

In short Strikers won't be caught, Knights may stay second but South will push, After that it is all for pride, nothing else.

In respect to the condition of KGV, entirely the fault of Football Tas, they have publicly admitted so. They are the tenants GCC the landlords. However there is light at the end of the tunnel the Change rooms are to be upgraded, New surface on the pitch and the lights to be fixed all to be done after the season is done. If the talk is correct the Knights will be acquiring the building as their own, will be gutted and refitted to to suit there purposes.

I pretty much totally agree with your assessment of the season so far being Devonport is just way too good no matter how they play , too much jealousy at Souths for sure as it’s a well known fact for some reason , Clarence coaches have gone from good to steadily worse and my god the defence can’t get any worse ,Launceston is the bright light of the year

Good summary 12.59. I think you have nailed it pretty well

Devonport Divers are fortunate to be the only NW coast team and have all of the NW coast to choose from. Plus they pay wages to coaches and players that other clubs can’t compete with. The rub of the green for many years from the men in green doesn’t hurt them either
