And Olympia want to get back into the NPL? Couldn’t beat south’s reserves who have looked very solid first four games.

I’m not sure what people expect though when a club gets removed from the npl all their decent players seek npl game time. Once that happens you’ve only got so much to work with in the team, it will take time. People expect Olympia to be the best champ team by a mile but that’s not how it works. Losing a npl licence means alot of things change for the club, give them some time I reckon.

They will NEVER make it back to the NPL.

Do you really think an Olympia squad would resemble anything like it is today if they
were in the NPL? I would guess good enough to be top 4 if they got back in.
12:47 am you have no clue about this club or its potential.

Anonymous said...

And that delusional attitude is why your club declined to the point they were turfed out of the NPL

Don't worry mate .
Olympia will be back.
After a successful 60s the club had troubles in the 70s because they could not field an under17s and football tas said no under 17s no big league.
Well they got an under 17s and you will find that those boys that played in the early 70s at the age of 13 or 14 against 2 or 3 year older players became the core off a successful 80s

Part 3 .
It's football tasmania who have stuffed the game up.
This rule that rule .
Tell me what's wrong with that pitch .
The ball plays true and allows football to be played but no someone has to complain and say I get grass rash from sliding and all of a sudden the pitch is no good.thats the stupidity off some people and especially those running the game.
Now people a moaning about juventus or bitching about the knights buying players.
Stop and think for once and support clubs that are trying to make the game better for Tasmanian kids and focus on getting things done for the better off the game.
Bagging certain clubs for trying to get the game going forward is not the answer

If you actually have to ask what's wrong with that pitch you are exactly the problem. Now that's not to say other pitches don't have their issues either.

Anonymous said...

Tell me then.
Back in the 60s and 70s you had 2 take a shovel 2 dig the ball out.
Try playing on those types off pitches and tell me that's how you improve football skills.
Grow up and look at the whole picture mate.
I would rather play at Olympias ground than the those waterlogged pitches.
At least your game skills improve.

Anonymous said...

My word. How anyone can defend Olympia's pitch is beyond me. Better suited for a basketball pitch and frankly dangerous to play football on.

Anonymous said...

Si my comments are a load off crap are they.
Then why don't you go to a waterlogged ground and try to play soccer week in week out and then maybe you will learn that the so called crap pitch allows you 2 play decent football and improves your skills.
Even better ask the oldies how tough it was to play on those waterlogged pitches.
I gather your from the this new generation who have never had it bad.
Grow up and look at the complete picture before you speak you shit.

I hope walter has photos from the 60s and 70s just to show you moaners the difference between the years and the pitch conditions.
Wentworth park sth hobart kgv university Margate sandals pitches under water and cancelled games even the domain had its problems.
You youngsters moan and groan about the olympia pitch us oldies would love 2 have played on it

Anonymous said...

Sorry you are right, I must have missed the ruling that you can play NPL on any pitch provided it’s not as bad as pitches 50 years ago were

Your joints would be glad you never had to play on that concrete monstrosity

Anonymous said...

My joints may be a bit rusty and we played in most conditions that most of you would not dream off.
So a concrete pitch would not be a problem for us.
We played for the love of the game and our club.so keep telling your feeble mind that a little bit off pain will not improve us.
Mummy's boy

Why not put your words into action? With the state of the Olympia senior squad you could probably still get a run?

Anonymous said...

Is that the best you can say little boy.
So you haven't got the guts 2 admit I've got a point.

Anonymous said...

Now correct me if I’m wrong here… your point is that because you played a game in the mud 50 years ago there should be no standards applied to the home grounds of clubs in the top competition in the state?

Anonymous said...

No mate I'm saying don't complain about olympias ground when the league transfered games there because off bad weather.
Now the league kicks them out because they have that ground.
I used the other grounds as an example for you youngsters to understand that you complain about that ground and did not play on the mud bath pitches we did.
Better to play on that ground than the waterlogged grounds.
Why did the association transfer games to Olympics ground then kick them out .
